Got tickets for Dylan in Dallas on February 22. Could that mean that Arlo will be here on or near Feb. 22? No contest on who we'd go see! HINT!!!!!

I'm off to see Dylan too... In Sunrise, FL on February 1st... And I'm flying from NJ to get there! If you haven't heard Dylan do "High Water Everywhere" live yet, you haven't really heard it at all... The live version blows away the "Love & Theft" version... The live version is pure rock n'roll with a rippling 5-string banjo behind the whole shebang just to keep it it rootsy and earthy... Enjoy the Dallas gig!

I've seen Bob in concert a few times... One gig was at the Mosque (Now Landmark Theatre) in Richmond, VA some yrs ago. Amamzing but Arlo came there last yr! They both seem to do shows around July 22 I've been to a coupla of Arlo & Bob shows on that date different yrs...

I'll be seeing Dylan also, 2-9 in Atlanta and 2-15 in Augusta. Can't make the N. Charleston and Greenville shows. I sure wish Arlo would make a run through the south like that.

Well, I don't ever recall anyone ever yelling out for "Alice's Restaurant" during any of Dylan's shows (that would require Dylan to talk more for the duration of one song than he has probably ever spoken aloud in his entire life... But I do have a dusty Dylan bootleg tape somewhere where someone in the audience keeps obnoxiously - and oddly - shouting "Mr. Bojangles!" at Mr. Tambourine Man himself... Guess the guy thought he was at a Jerry Jeff Walker concert... I do have a hazy recollection that Dylan might have sung "City Of New Orleans" at some gig in South America or Mexico in 1991... Not technically an Arlo cover song, but damn close! But I'll have to check on that!

OK, OK... I couldn't go to sleep without checking the facts... I was wrong about Dylan performing the "City Of New Orleans." In the Winter 1991 issue of the now (sadly) defunct Dylan fanzine "The Telegraph," there was a feature article on Dylan's 1991 Tour of South America... One fan in attendance at several shows - who was obviously able to sneak a peek at Dylan's band's cue sheet -reported: "An interesting footnote: Dylan included the Steve Goodman song, "The City Of New Orleans" on a couple of the set lists but unfortunately he didn't get around to playing it..." So there you have it... An almost performance of an almost Arlo cover song...! OK, off to bed...!

We saw Bob in North Charleston, S.C. last Wednesday and it was one great concert! No sign of Arlo there, tho ...

Yeah, Dylan ain't much of a talker... LOL! I've been to a few of his gigs. He does a great version of Woodys BUFFALO SKINNERS... <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>

Last Friday night (2/1/02) I went to Dylan's Sunrise gig at the National Car Center Arena, outside of Fort Lauderdale... Great show - lots of material from the new album "Love & Theft," lots of harmonica playing... Dylan dressed head to toe in his finest western-attire, from his cowboy hat to his stitched black jacket to his reptile-skin boots... Dylan has retooled all his music - including his classic folk and rock songs - into freewheelin' and very improvisational rockabilly and roots/blues rock settings... This is incredible stuff, what great live music is all about - something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, something completely anarchic! If you should get the chance, check out Dylan 2002... Though be warned, you will definitely have to check your nostalgic expectations at the door!

Hank far freakin out!!! Dylan did a great cover of 'Walker's Mr. Bo Jangles'. I lost it on vynal yrs. ago. So can't help with title of L.P. Probly know what I'm talkin bout anyhow!?

*not had the chance as of late. A couple yrs. ago I'd of forgone any outta my way to see Dylan live. The way he's winging out great new songs (nice to hear he's spicing up some ol ones too) and the style he's tranformed into...It's great man...Great stuff!!!
