I think the film is hitting the movie theaters this August. I'll see if I can find the info about this.

from a Ramblin' Jack article posted in Related Artists in Folksinger Spottings on Arlo.net:

"Recently, Ramblin' Jack has gotten a glimpse of his own legend on
the silver screen. His daughter, Aiyana Elliot, a filmmaker, has just
come out with "The Ballad of Ramblin' Jack," a documentary of
father and daughter making their way across the country. The story
turns from the roving cowboy's life on the road to the daughter's
search for a dad who was rarely at home.

The movie won an artist-achievement award for a documentary at the
Sundance Film Festival, in Utah, in January. It also placed second in
the documentary category at the South by Southwest Music/Film
Festival, in Austin, Texas, in March.

The film, which also features archival footage of Ramblin' Jack in his
earlier days, has been picked up by October Films and will be
distributed to movie houses in the fall."
