Whatchewmean, hacked? Being normally in a state of "duh-ness", I have observed NADA (National Association of Dumb Asses, of which I may well be president, for all I know)! Everything looks the same to me.

the hack is to the main page ARLONET forums... the arabic translates to "God is Almighty". I know Spark is trying to reach Dave, and I'm doing what I can to help.

Holy crap! Was it just a wacky hacker or actually an Islamic thingy? Either way, why on Arlo's site? Doesn't seem like it should be a likely target.

I have to say that the guy's singing voice ain't too shabby, though! Maybe he wants a gig?

Man this is bad. I'm betting the god they are referring to could be their allah but I dunno as I don't know Arabic or middle eastern languages. WHay they'd wanna hack the site I dunno.

I discovered that on the front page of Arlonet it lists some of the recent postings & you can access those from there. I'm guessing that means they hacked the main page of the boards that lists all the boards but maybe not each individual board.

Arlo's Restaurant can be accessed from here:
http://www.arlo.net/resources/forums/viewforum.php?f=15&sid=945ae6bb8fa929a84279a9aeb15ad0f3

Setlists is here:
http://www.arlo.net/resources/forums/viewforum.php?f=4&sid=945ae6bb8fa929a84279a9aeb15ad0f3

Folksinger Spottings:
http://www.arlo.net/resources/forums/viewforum.php?f=2&sid=945ae6bb8fa929a84279a9aeb15ad0f3

Support Technical:
http://www.arlo.net/resources/forums/viewforum.php?f=6&sid=945ae6bb8fa929a84279a9aeb15ad0f3

& A New Board is listed there called BeLa whatever that is. Looks like folks wrote on that one about the hacking. If I forgot to list any boards on here yuou can access them via the jump to doodad on the end of each page of each board.

Hope this helps! I wrote Arlo to let him know but whether it gets to him or not I dunno. Good luck!

I just emailed Bhaklava Kathy and told her what was going on. She's real busy these days with all kinds of writing assignments and is the mother of a 5 year old boy(!!!!), but she's doing fine, and she does check her mail.

Hmmm.....mighty strange. We've been snowed in throughout the country for about 3 weeks now, so maybe it's someone with a lot of time on their hands. Actually, here in Turkey we're much too busy with the occasional bombings to have much time for anything else. <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/wink.gif" width=15 height=15>

The image is pulled in directly from: www.islamicfinder.org
so whoever did this was "stealing" bandwidth and is not the hacker's site.

However, I did find: http://sevig.com/
as the source for the music.

The Turkish site (sevig.com) is definitely not a political one. It's a type of lonely hearts chat place and forum. (from what I can decipher in my Tarzan Turkish)
Haven't heard of the other site before.

The song is a Turkish illahi, which is like a hymn. It's talking about God and love.

synapses are working slowly here today, but it's possible that they hacked in cos AG is playing Denmark and has it listing on the schedule. Wonder if they're hacking other artists scheduled for Tonder? We have had a few small-ish protests about the Danish cartoons here. could be fallout.

Cyndy when "that"page comes up there is a sound file.
Hard to say the motive,s of hacking arlo.net.But we do know they obviously dont know the man or the folks that frequent his home on the web.
--------------------------------------------
As the world becomes smaller we must find ways to embrace the spiritual journeys of those whose traditions are different, without abandoning our own. The skills needed for healthy future are different from the ones needed to preserve the past, and both are required to live in the moment.

Seasons of the Church

We respect the rich heritage that our Jewish, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu and Moslem ancestors have handed down over the centuries. We anguish with traditional peoples everywhere whose ways of life are disappearing in the modern world. We struggle with them to preserve their own ways when they are threatened such as in Tibet or here in North America. Our teachers are from many paths and many traditions.

And following in the present day traditions of service and compassion as exemplified by Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati, Neem Karoli Baba, Swami Nityananda and others, the activities at the Trinity Church are flexibly designed to serve the ongoing needs of the local and international community.

On the door entering the church Ma wrote:

One God - Many Forms
One River - Many Streams
One People - Many Faces
One Mother - Many Children

Ma, an internationally respected spiritual teacher, presided over the opening night celebrations as the center was re-consecrated to the service for which it was originally intended - Service to God and to all sentient beings.
