Corey went to the ER at 4:30 this morning with tightness in her chest and not being able to breathe. They did an X-ray which was clear, so they thought... pulmonary embolism... so they did a CAT scan.

The CAT was negative for blood clot but did show that she still has bronchitis from weeks ago! So she's on steroids, antibiotics and they gave her percoset for pain, and codeine for the cough...

Please keep her in your thoughts. She's an over-achiever who never takes time off to take care of herself... and her asthma has been getting worse over the past 2 years.

Thanks!

Thanks for the good wishes. She's one tough kid! After going through all she dealt with in the ER, including a one-hour breathing treatment... she came home, ate a big lunch, slept all afternoon and then... yep, went to the mall!

She's still coughing up a storm and has tightness in her chest, but no matter how sick she is, she goes to work and her classes and still doesn't miss a night of shopping....

So here's to antibiotics and steroids! I wish I were 20 again.

Glad to know that Corey is so tough--it was a rough time for us, so many years ago. The kids now have a lot more to deal with. All the best--and best health--to her!

Best wishes from Pittsburgh for a continued speedy recovery for Darling Corey! (Excuse the impromptu nickname, but it's one of my favorite Pete Seeger songs.)

Over the weekend, Corey got worse, but kept insisting she "had to" go to both jobs. By Monday she was so sick that I made an emergency appointment with the doctor. He sent her for a sinus CT scan, another chest x-ray and blood work. The scan and x-ray were negative... which means she is an asthmatic, as opposed to just having asthma attacks sometimes.

She was so bad on Monday that she was actually worse than Michael! Doctor finally convinced her that she just HAS TO slow down, ordered her to stay home for at least 3 days and gave her lots of medications.

She's feeling a little better today. But classmates of hers have been telling me today in the lab that when they saw her last week, she looked "really bad." I wish Corey would just learn when it's time to slow down, stay in bed, sleep.

We're still waiting for the blood work, but I'm sure at this point she doesn't have another infection....

Thanks for keeping her in your thoughts. I really appreciate it. Her 20th birthday is next week and she is planning a huge party for herself... I hope she feels well enough to attend <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>
