They showed a few pics on our news and of those in Norway? I might have that wrong as I couldn't hear or see the TV properly at the time, it did all look very bad though,

Thoughts and prays

Oh, yes! Blundervibes and prayers appear to be needed. It just gets worse and worse.

As of yesterday it was unaffected. Sherry said that it was sunny and you'd never know what was happening to the east. She was baking cookies to take to a shelter where people who'd evactuated to the Lake Charles area were staying.

yes, i spoke with sherry for a minute last night, and was thankful that the hurricane skipped lake charles... actually, the real story is that no hurricane has the nerve to try and get near sherry! Would'a turned that hurricane into a dripping shower head...

howdy folks..thanks for all the love and concern and phone calls and e mails! ken and i are dong fine and as you already heard..the only sign of katrina here is the 15000 plus people who are now living in our civic center and the coliseum and assorted other locations in our area. i have been volunteering with the red cross and will continue to do so while i am still here and able (i'm getting my 4 wisdom teeth pulled next week so that may slow me down a bit). yesterday i was sorting shoes and clothing. the outpouring from our local community has been as overwhelming as the devastation in the new orleans area. it's a beautiful thing to see folks rise to an occassion. it's equally mind blowing walking though rows and rows of beds of people who have no idea when they can go 'back to where they came from' and not have a home to go back to at all.

not much else is worth saying these days. i love you.

thanks again....
me
