what a fabulous weekend! i knew i needed to get there after the summer we've had, i just didn't know how badly i needed it until i got there. to be surrounded by friends and feel the love was so healing! so...to all my friends, thanks from the bottom of my heart for being you!

i also have to thank my friends for the unexpected and fabulous 50th birthday party. i was completely blown away and obviously "clueless" as you put it together in front of my face. as larry has said before...i apparently have gotten to the point where i can hide my own easter eggs.

on to carnegie....

Made it home a few hours ago....

The road back to North Carolina was easier than the road from NC to the Church.
On Saturday, we were lost for 4 hours.
On Monday, we were on the same wrong roads, but we knew where we were.
We were just on the wrong road.
Familiar old friendly wrong road...

yup, there's the place we turned around the first time....
There's the place we pulled over to look at the map...
Oh...there's the place we thought was a road...hee hee....won't do that again.....now we're semi locals, just on the wrong road....

Loved all the hugs, love, catch-up's, food (ummm...chilli was mighty fine..) music, photo conglomerations, etc.
Saw Chuck and Connie shadows all over the place...who says you need an actual BODY to BE THERE?? We all shared Chuck and Connie stories and kept your Dad's passage close in mind...we were with you in spirit, as you with us...

Arlo really got me with the "Joseph" story....I'm still grinning from it, going over those last few sentences in my mind again and again, practicing pointing while saying, "They went THAT way..."

Thank you Arlo. You give us all so much.

Loved the cowboy songs.
Love the cowboy band

Good to hear Gordon's mandolin and pedal steel playing again....what a treat!

David Grover was doing some STRONG leads....(as always), powerful stuff!

Terry-al-a-Berry's accents refreshing, fun and creative.....it's not possible for me to look at Terry without smiling from the inside out!!

Mr Miller on bass....good ,solid, smooth....incorperating tasty continuity...(my) David was intrigued, impressed...me too...

And Abe...transforming the keys on the board into heartstrings....gets me every time.

Loved being there to share Deb's brithday.
Sherry hugged me...again.... a special treasure.
Sue's flowers so beautiful.
Got to meet Larry's wife! She's much prettier than Larry.

So many more lovely thoughts to go through..
so many wonderful, loving moments.
Thank you all for all you are and all you do .

Kitty, I sure wish I'd known you were there. I was there with my little Michael (the asthmatic to whom you sent a tape several years back).

Sorry we missed meeting you. We left the tailgate around 3 PM.

Terrie, I kept calling Wylde "Terrie" and kept wondering why the name "Terrie" was on my mind!
Now I know!

I wish I'd known you and Michael were there too. I sure would have liked to meet you both in person!

Next year....hugs and swoon exchange for sure!!

By the way, how is Michael doing these days?

The story of Joseph was wonderful! I've heard Arlo tell it a bunch of times before, but there was something about the way he told it this weekend, in the Church, in four part harmony, with feeling....Saturday night I just totally lost it and got hysterical laughing. It was all I could do not to fall off my chair. Terrie patted me on the arm, afraid I was going to choke to death or something. I told her I was fine, that this was pretty typical for me, and nothing to worry about. The tears rolled down my face and my belly hurt from laughing so hard. I thought about all the times I had heard the story of Joseph in Sunday School when I was a kid, where it was told with straight faces and serious voices, and if you were lucky, you got a picture of Joseph and his technicolor dream coat. I couldn't help thinking, "Sunday School was never like this!" I think I learned more from hearing Arlo tell the story this weekend than I ever learned in 15 years of Sunday School. Thank you, Arlo, for all the laughter and joy!

The setlist boards are not down... On the home page, click forums. There you go. Or just click ArloNet under the "Related Forums" on here.

OK... I see that now...

So... are the ArloNet forums now completely separated from the Group W forums? I had to sign in separately over there, although I was already signed in here...

Incidentally (to keep this post on-topic)
I had a wonderful blunderful time this weekend. Thank you to Sherry, Ken, Beverley, Shelley, Jay, Judy, Pat, Bob, Deb, Mark, John, Regina, PamRam, Bobbi, Bob (baldwinville), Larry, Linda, Cindy, Kitty, Dave ... oh the heck with it.... thanks to the whole blundering crew who made the weekend so special!!!

Edited to add: Thanks to Arlo and the band, too!
