We're here! The Berkshires! It's really beautiful here, with the hills and rivers and the trees and the great architecture. We came a couple days early to have time to knock around and see the area. This is our first time; I guess we're Church virgins. Didn't do much this afternoon but settle in, drive around just a little, and get some excellent Italian food, That seems to be very big in Great Barrington. One thing we noticed, in driving through very rural areas, we never saw livestock. Did we just miss them somehow, or don't people have horses, goats, etc., around here too much? Maybe the mooses scared off all the livestock (?)

Hey Ceashel and Jay, hooray! Hope the plane ride was good!

Notice that there are trees there and a road numbered 183.

I'm there in spirit. Have a wonderful time and take lots of pix.

Count me in as another one who's there in spirit. It's the first October I've missed and I'm so sorry not to be meeting up with Ceashel and Jay and some of the others who'll be there for the first time. It is beautiful, isn't it? It feels like home really fast, too.

YOU'RE HERE!!!!!!!

I'm soooo glad you made it! Aren't the trees beautiful... there must be some color there by now... I'm about an hour away, near Albany.

I'm planning to head for the hills on Saturday afternoon. Can't wait to see you and other blunderful people!

welcome to the neighborhood!!! so glad you guys are here and beat lili out of the south.

looking forward to meeting you in person...and getting used to hearing your voices instead of reading your responses! LOL

YIPPIE....

as for the livestock..i think there are far more cows in lake charles than in this area...but there is a big bull around the corner from our house up here if you are really intent on finding livestock! [ i did see a sheep on leash in pittsfield once]

see you soon!

I am SO jealous... I had planned on being there this weekend but, well, life happens.

I was up there several years ago on my way to Vermont, does that count?

I'm there with everyone in spirit.

Terrie

I'm another spirit there with you--please, those of you who are there--check out the quilt if it's still hanging. It was on the balcony facing the stage when I last saw it. Lots of the fabric and the picture of Woody was given to me by Levi, and I gotta say, Woody looked pretty comfy there last I saw him. Let me know if you like it. Enjoy, and tell Arlo HI for me if you can.

Bobbi, yes, hopefully the spring. I don't really know Bob is. Doing OK for now, but he seems to have kind of a lot of things that need work. We'll know more in a couple of months, I guess.

To those who are going, just one favor for those of who are not..post...lots of details, color, everything. Oh, where is a webcam when you really need one?

the troops are already massing, huh??
Marta and I head up to the berks tomorrow morning... taking the scenic route 7 like we always do, so no idea when we'll actually arrive since we enjoy stopping along the way...
pat, bringing my digital camera this time, so maybe i'll snap some stuff that can actually be shared, but don't count on too much leaf-peepin' shots... it's still a little too early in the season, and the reports are not too encouraging. Probably still need a good quick frost in the next week or so...
ceashel... if it's a nice day today, try and get over to bartholamew cobble, south of GB... there's a hike to the top of the hill that has some superlative views on a clear day! Or better yet, take a motor ride up to Mt Greylock for some really stunning views! The weather for Saturday is sounding dicey right now, thanks to lily in no small part, so we'll probably do store hopping and indoor museum-y stuff... but we'll hopefully make it to the church by 7:30 or so...
am i to understand that someone is bringing cinnimon buns???????
