Great news, indeed! Welcome home, Aaron!!!

If you read these boards, I hope I have not made any anti-war comments that have hurt your feelings. I support the troops wholeheartedly, but not the guy who sent you.

Hello folks!
Linda here.....just wanted to let you all know i printed out this thread for Aaron to read the other nite,He appreciates all the vibes & kind words!
We received our thanksgiving pkg from Jay & Shelly yesterday so Aaron would be able to see the shout out!HE just giggled when he saw all of us in IT... Sgt Miller will get his copy when he returns, as he is also home for some R&R..
I also want to let you all know, i recived a nice check the other day from Pam, from the sale of the "support our troop" stickers,ALL THE WAY from Michigan!!!!!!! this will help with postage to send over carepackages for Aarons troop for xmas! Goodies started arriving lastnite, and more to be dropped off tomorrow (30 pounds ) from another nice lady who wants to help! Xmas cards are being made by a local daycare center to put in the pkg too! I picked up a small xmas tree at a craft show last weekend so they will have a little bit of the spirit to help keep them smiling...Keep those vibes going! THEY ALL REALLY NEED THEM is all i can say at this point...and THANKS again to ALL of you for ALL the SUPPORT!!!!!!!!
REMEMBER to say a prayer today for our Vet's young and old, and if you have the chance give one a BIG HUG,and say THANK YOU... you'll feel alot better doing this, then getting 25 percent off of whatever it is that is onsale today

WOWIE!!! What GREAT news!!! Wish your R&R were for longer than 15 days!! When I saw Arlo in Easton on Friday (11/12/04)and he sang "When a Soldier Makes it Home" ... I thought about Aaron and others in this crazy war. I DO CARE WHEN A SOLDIER MAKES IT HOME!!! Listening to Arlo sing that brought a few tears. Welcome home Aaron!!! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/peace.gif" width=16 height=16>

Hi Folks,(Linda posting as Larry again!)
Just wanted to give you ALL an update & make a request for vibes/prayers! While Aaron was home he & Jen found out he needed surgery, after a total of 4 docs agreeing on this his troop denied him an extention to be able to see a doc in DC.( dam army didn't belive the doc's here i guess).. After a 4 day trip back, once there he showed all his documented doc's notes to the right people so they knew this was not a trick to try and stay home! He was told to do the right thing and come back his troop needed him! But with the health problems the docs advised him NOT to lift the 50 pound plus.. gun he HAS to lift, not to mention the 30 pounds plus he carries on him! OH and NO RUNNING!!!!!! Yea right, over there u NEED to run! He arrived back to his troop on tuesday and it was that day or the next he was told they were sending him home!!!!!! Here he goes again! 4 days back on the plane...He should be back in the states soon, and we are still unsure if he will have to travel to DC. for same day surgery, OR they will let him do this in his home town! So please folks keep them in your prayers, you have helped before and it worked so lets try it again! May you ALL have a Happy Thanksgiving, safe travels to and from those family & friends..as for us I will cook for the 3 of us this yr..and Lar has been told we might just put the tree up this yr, as to help lift Jens spirits and get a jump on the holiday decorations due to the fact we might be making a trip to DC! THANKS FOR GIVING ..GUYS, ALL your support this last yr! MAY ALL the TROOPS be home safe and sound real soon

Larry, tell Aaron not to let the Army/Guard/Reserves, etc. screw him around about any health-related issue while he's on active duty. Get the treatment NOW, rather than being at the mercy of the DVA when he's released. If they jerk him around too much, he should insist on seeing a lawyer in the Judge Advocate's office. Also, he should pursue getting a service-connected label put on his injury or illness, if at all possible.
Best of luck to him and you guys, and hope you all have a great Thanksgiving.

Thanks for the advice Mikey! The trouble was he got looked at by the doctor a couple of days before he was to return. And with the army doing stuff stupid anyway, you can imagine the chain of command BS he went through. But doing stuff in a stupid way is the mandate of the army since they got that dumb ass as the commander in chief.
