Thank you all for the kind words & heartfelt good wishes, & special thanks to Ruthie for starting this thread. It's been a great 20 years!

I always say, I know I'm not the easiest man in the world to live with---

---but I'm in the top 5.

I didn't know about John until Louise mentioned him, but I just checked the latest rankings, & sure 'nuff, he's passed me & I'm now #6! The other 4, in no particular order:

Ward Cleaver
He wore a suit & tie 24 hours a day, went to work, handled the family finances & the kids' problems, & generally let June live the type of sheltered life that ordinarily only residents of mental institutions get to live.

Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable
He brought home a decent income & did some housework, & more importantly, understood that in reality women rule the world.

Mickey Rooney
He must be easy to be married to. 8 women tried it, right?

John Edwards
The latest heartthrob among soccer moms in their 40's, so I found out at my sons' games this weekend. One woman told me, "If something happens that the president dies in office & the vice president takes over, we might as well have something to look at!"

But Ward Cleaver is dead,{bummer}
& Dr. H. WAAY yonder too old!
Mickey Rooney {see above}
ok, now John Edwards, hhmmm
I think that just might put you back in the top 2-3???!

I know ya did, Star, & I'd already decided that when the election dust settled, that would be a matter deserving of its own thread, which I'm gonna start right now...
