Myth? Nah. The town is altogether too real. It's just the ultimate irony for it to be tied to the concept of Woodstock Nation, is all.

And I do realize that everyone already knows this, but ... the Woodstock Festival was held in Bethel because the Town Board wouldn't allow it anywhere within the town's borders. I've since been told, by some of those directly involved in that decision, that they (still!) "don't want that sort of people coming here", or (God forbid!)"that sort of image for the town." Naturally, they also waited until the very last minute to inform anyone of this decision ... in hopes of keeping the festival from happening at all, anywhere ... and knowing full well how much had already been invested in it, how much it had already been promoted, that tickets had already been sold, etc. Nothing personal though, you understand (so I'm told) -- and in the spirit of Woodstock: Colony of the Arts, and all. (Ehem.)

Which doesn't mean that we can't continue the irony, however. Or the chanting. Personally, I'd love to see Woodstock turn into a real Colony of the Arts despite itself. In my lifetime.
And I do so love snow ...

~waves~ to Wyldflower...
not too cold here today, nor is there much snow...
Which is all fine by me...but not good for the Rideau Canal, the longest skating rink in the world, the season is getting shorter and shorter each year and of course they are griping about the expense for too short a season. You can tune in here and watch people skate, buy beaver tails... http://www.capcan.ca/winter/xmaslights/index_e.asp

~~waves~~ back to sparkydon

We've had about as much snow as I'd like to see... about 5 feet in two weeks... and winter is just beginning! I'm trying to aim my fans north for RB, but since you are northwest, I probably won't send any to you by mistake.

I looked at the webcam thingy, and saw a few skaters... very cool!

Good morning everyone. Lots of snow yesterday, but no snow day for the kids today. (whew) Maybe by the time I have to leave for work they'll plow the roads. Have a good one!
