arnie...that really does put it all in perspective...thanks...

we just got in from the visitation...the chief of police showed up ..as well as the fire department brass, and the mayor! there were some other official types and lots of friends and family.....as these things go...it was lovely.

the funeral parlor did a really nice job setting up the stuff we brought in ...photos of doris when she was younger as well as some from more recently and her 'stuff' ... ...unicorns, gnomes etc...

we just wanted to say thanks again for giving us so much .... 'nuf said!

Arnie, thank you. I didn't have the words you had. Having been the recipient of that flood of Blundervibes, I can say you nailed it.

I'm reading this all after the fact, so forgive me for chiming in so late. I share in my fellow Blunderites condolences, and also in the relief that the suffering was managed. My heart goes out to you and Ken and I hope that your loss will be lessened by the knowledge that Doris' love for you goes on and on, long after the suffering.

Thanks for sharing your burden with us, for we all grieve with you, and we'll all rejoice with you again as life turns again toward triumph and warmth for you both.

Oh, Sherry and Ken! I'm sorry to hear of Doris's passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. It's hard to say goodbye and to feel that sudden aching absence of a face and smile that means so much to you.

It was a blessing that you could spend this time with her. There is a 'pureness' of love and compassion we find when time is short and when life is bittersweet as it has been for you these last few weeks. But you can carry that clarity with you as you begin to heal. It will get you through the bad spots and make the memories golden. It is hard, but be gentle with yourselves and in time the ache will slowly start to get better. God bless you both.

Bel
