i can certainly relate to your car disaster!
I was some 60 miles outside of Moab, Utah when the alternator on my car imploded!
A two lane highway, with NOONE in sight for miles... had no choice but to disconnect the belt, and drive the 60 miles strictly on battery... no radio, blowers, etc...
Ultimately they had to ship the part (a toyota in the Southwest was an unknown vehicle in those days) from Salt Lake city... but we got to spend a couple of days exploring Moab (not much there...) and Arches National Park...
I've been enjoying your running commentary so much Terrie... hope you fill in the blanks when you get the chance!
Makes me wish that digital cameras had existed back in the 70's!

We are now in Kentucky on the way home. I hadn't realized before how much I could miss the green, lush mountains of the Appalachians!

Pictures up to and including July 21st are now on the site, but no captions and no commentary. I'll add all that when I get home.

The mousepad on my laptop seems to have a mind of its own all of a sudden and bounces from one insertion point to another and I don't know why. So, rather than try to deal with it, I'll wait a few more days and then look for updates sometime Monday.

Sounds like you've had an interesting trip. We get to go to KY in Oct to go to a reunion they have in the hillbilly area of KY Mikes from where folks who used to live there & folks who still live there all get together & visit & have a reunion. It's at a lodge up there. It should be fun! Like last yr we're going with Mikes cousin & her hubby. I'm bringing my dulcimer & autoharp this yr like I did last yr. We have video of me playing them up there last yr in a hillbilly holler. That's the weekend of the church gigs so it's better than staying home lonely cuz I couldn't get to the church gigs...

We got home around 6PM Saturday nite. I'll update you tomorrow sometime. Does anyone recall where Arlo played on the 25th or 26th?
