You know that I couldn't stay away from all this political discussion... Especially being in the vast minority around here. I'm sure most of you know that I wholeheartedly support President Bush and what we are doing in Iraq. I think that actually it's about damn time... I also think that once we are done liberating Iraq that we should focus on disbanding the UN - it's a good idea in principal, but it just doesn't work and is nothing more than a waste of our time, money, and effort.

Ok, just had to get in my 2 cents on the issue... But the real reason for the post is I wanted to pass on a neat article that I found regarding all these celebrities who are against our current efforts in Iraq... check it out, I think it says it pretty darn well (and think it's just a tad bit funny too):
http://www.mwarrior.com/celebsVwar.htm

Also, there is the matter of "National Security"... Things that are classified and not made known to the American people because it could and probably would jepoardize our way of life. The president and his advisors are the ones with the full picture, and it is my firm belief that if they feel this action was necessary to protect our interests, then who am I to question their actions. I can't make a truly informed decision as I don't have all the information that they have.

I am also extremely impressed with the way things are being carried out... the appearance that as much is being done to protect the innocent as is humanly possible, and that it seems to be working. With any luck we will encounter little resistance, and the world will be rid of this madman and his followers.

I, like many people in our country and abroad do not have enough respect for the intellect of George W. Bush to value his opinion or his judgement.
This man may very well go down in history as the worst president this country ever had. In a very short time he has screwed up our foreign relations for years to come and the economy for years to come.
Had he presented a stronger case for war, he would have more support here and abroad.
The jury was still out, and this self-appointed judge passed sentence. Instead, he may have polorized the world back to something like the cold war. We will have to wait and see.

Some people earn their degrees and some people get stateside duty by luck. Others purchase both and/or use their family's influence to get them. Some people earn their way in the world. Others inherit those silver feet in their mouths.

Right or Wrong does not matter now, the war has begun, Let us all pray for those men who must now fight it and let us pray that Peace will return and it will be a just one.

The only problem I have is with the concept of blowing up an entire football stadium in order to kill one of the players, But let us hope it does not come to that.

I agree Nate, unless of course we are talking about the Dallas Cowboys.

Now that our troops ARE there, I support and pray for them, as well as the innocents in Iraq. I also hope and pray that we find what we were told was there when this is over. Our foriegn relations have been hurt enough already.

I've been in enough shit in my lifetime to know & realize things happen for a reason!!!!

* I'm a tree hugger at heart (day job) and a Dictator's worst nite-mare. I honestly wish I was 21 so I could go serve MY country. YOUR country. But I'm not, and I haven't shot a gun in over l0 yrs. So I wouldn't be much help.

*** Shooting a gun is like riding a bike. It's something you never forget. I think I can still hit a bulls-eye at 300 yards. Hell with the modern day weapons they have now, I could probly shoot over 500 yards. I'm (selfishly) glad it's a war, not meant for me!

Go figure. I was never one for revenge????

So it took a major bombing campaign to get you out here again? Geez Dave, I think you better be more sociable, cause we can't do this too often. This is really the hard way to get your attention.

*Edited for incoherance. It wasn't that late when I posted, but it seems the cold meds had taken effect.*

What Pat said. We love ya, Dave, but couldn't we get together over a cuppa instead of missile strikes?

Look out now, Larry, we are talking about world politics. Don't be confusing THAT with the World Champion Dallas Cowboys just because you have to settle for the Washington Deadskins and two NY Dumps.

P.S. Yeah Dave. You dissapear, then come back talking blood, guts, and viens in your teeth. Way to go man!!!! That's cool. Can you dig it???

666: I'm off to pray for the tank that got hit. I don't think it was too bad, but just because it made it back to check-point, doesn't mean the dudes have all thier fingers. that I cannot dig. I have little sympathy for Iraq's military! SH has sorta been asking for this. That's the one thing I love about America. (trust me, there's good with the bad) But if anyone ask for something long enough, the US of A is gonna give it to them...Like it or not.?

***ps: I sit here 1/2 meditating what Todd would say?? I see him up there, helping to call some shots. But I do have a vivid imagination. Should we call 'John Edwards' to see????

meditate....(Lent) not medicate........<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>

Oh, we'll find some kind of evidence of them. Whether they were there before we get there is another question. But that isn't really the point as far as I'm concerned.
Other than that, what Larry said on all counts.

I wish this war would never have had to happen. Like others here, I have little respect for the intellect of GWB, but now that we are in it, let's do what we have to do and GET OUT!! Also, to the netweorks--please don't talk to us unless you actually have something to say!!! This 24/7 war coverage is bizarre to say the least.

For those of you who may not know, "Netweorks" are known as the little people in Ireland and as Fairys in the rest of the world....I myself was wondering where Pat got her ideas, but even I am surprised that she admits ot hearing voices.

I knew you'd be a happy pup dave, and I'm glad for you. But please, that article is just as skewed as any conservative rant i've read lately, or liberal one for that matter...
fact of the matter is, regardless of how smart you are, what really matters is if you have the common sense to properly USE those smarts!
Clearly, in the case of the store-bought degrees of shrub, the jury is waaay out.
And since when do political appointments make a person someone we should believe or trust???? I'd just as soon believe a movie star (or better yet, a folksinger), who at least is speaking their mind, not the mind of their bosses!

Oh, and as far as finding the nasty WMD's that our politicos say Sadmadman has, i understand that a crack team of NYC Undercover Drug Enforcement agents are spearheading the search and plant mission!
