Deb, all of us who post regularly, here, show our personal communications style. Zowie is/was kinda bombastic & "out there" but, he was consistently so, if you started posting, like Todd, or Nathen, I'd think that odd!!
So, what I thought odd, was the collective response Zowie got from you & Pat & Deb & Sherry & Fitzy, I don't think anyone here, is a "bad person" or should leave this site
I felt the same way, about Dave's "Pacifist post" he & I have disagreed, before, without getting nasty. I asked him a question, about what attracted he & Kim to Arlo, & he answered. I respect his answer!
I'm willing to wind this down, now, and note that sometimes we wil disagree, with each other.
I'm sorry Zowie left, for whatever reasons. I don't plan on leaving, because I like this site and the people on it, even when we are in disagreement..

i'm certainly not asking you to leave, bumper...but what you don't seem to get, or don't want to believe or something, is that there was no "collective" response. each of us, in our own style, posted what we felt, and we each had the right to do that. just because we may have had the same opinion, does not mean we got together and said..."let's get zowie!" i agree that if you drew up sides on the issue being debated that there were more people on one side than the other, but it's not really anyone's fault that more people felt they agreed with one side more than the other. i.e...it's not anyone's fault that zowie might have felt alone on his side...and it certainly doesn't constitute a personal attack because many people did not agree with him. as pat pointed out way earlier in this discussion, if you're going to be an iconoclast, you have to expect most people to disagree with you, or what's the point?

no one asked zowie to leave...he chose to leave. he repeated over and over that he was gone...and then he was. his choice.

just for the record..sherry wasn't involved,(she doesn't do politics) and fitzy only made the one comment after zowie had already decided to leave.

You all understand of course that cat herders look at people who try to herd hippies and blunderites and shake thier heads and wonder why they even try! Image

heehee Larry, U R funny... yea cat herders would say, "These scratches'll heal from the cats, who knows, bout them hippies & Blunderites"
Deb, it's possible I read meaning, into randomness, here. What I saw (interpreted) was that after Zowie's response, to Dave's post, you & a couple others "went after" Zowie. I see that it may have been your individual timing, rather than a group effort, if that's the case, I apologize for misinterpreting..
are we on the same page, now?

head em up, move em out, Larry!!, got fresh catnip, in North Platte

Oh wow, I sure hope the community boards don't get taken away. I enjoy checking this place out. If they are taken off I'll have some serious withdrawals... Thank God there are the other Arlo boards & the Arlo clubs on YAHOO...

well, we are back from running errands and shopping and i guess i didnt miss much...just more of the same...

i do have to say that i was a bit surprised to read that i had been involved in this 'political zowie driving-away' discussion as i didnt recall being here for that...but deb cleared that up for me...so thanks deb..i didnt think i was here..but i guess blaming the head bitch is easier than handling the truth, huh bumper?

same is true of fitzy's ONE comment...and really ...to say that she dared someone to leave because she pointed out that leaving is harder than it looks...dont you think that is a bit over the top?

bumper...your so-called 'apology' (and i used the term loosely) didnt seem to have much heart in it....so although you were speaking directly to deb and i'm not trying to answer for her (though i'm sure at some point i'll be accused of it anyway)...i dont think we are on the same page at all...as it seemed to be lip service to 'end' this discourse because it isnt going in the direction you had hoped.

you still choose not to answer my questions and had replied with a snide, "I'm being as specific as I choose to be".....

i just dont see why you cant back up what you are saying.....since you feel so strongly about it...and perhaps if you leave that kind of 'petty' attitude out of it....we might actually get someplace....not to mention getting your facts straight....

and stew...i have to agree with deb (is that allowed anymore?) if dave doesnt think your pumpkin post is a good enough reason to keep these forums open....i dont know what is!

Ok, thanks to the pumpkin, I've decided to keep the forums open - except for Cheryl... she has other forums she can use!

you're welcome, sherry.

bumper...thank you for apologizing for misinterpreting what you thought you saw. i appreciate it. guess that goes to prove that sherry and i can operate independently from each other. so, i guess we're on the same page with that one.

we're most definitely not on the same page regarding zowie's post, and i guess we're going to have to agree to disagree on that one. i still think it was rude and over the top for no discernable reason, especially because he has made it clear he wouldn't tolerate that kind of response.

i was thinking, though, if gore had tried that form of speaking during the debates, people probably wouldn't have thought him so wooden.

well, see, sherry, I didn'tknow you were the head bitch, sorry I included you, though. Define "petty attitude", please
Thanks, Deb, I can agree to disagree, with you, and harbor no ill will.
and, you are right, had Zowie written Gore's speeches, who knows, he might've won over Buchanan, and Broward County seniors woulda been really confused, & voted for Nader!!!
Alright, Dave!! thanks for leaving the forum open>
