thanks stan! great show, huh? the sound wasn't great above the stage for arlo but the symphony sounded great...and the second act did sound a little better. but the seats were awsome...we could see what was coming before arlo played it!! and our usher was the sweetest lady.

and it was wonderful to finally actually meet agnes and introduce ourselves...and don is too funny!

The setlist sounds similar to the Richmond, VA one except no KEYS TO THE HIGHWAY. I'll try to post the Richmond setlist in a few days. I'm tired LOL! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/peace.gif" width=16 height=16>

The set list was pretty much the same because we have to play what the orchestra has music for.... BTW we missed seeing you Cheryl and Mike and we were waiting for you inside the Mosque ILandmark) 'til we had to leave... Next time stay insde where everyone else is hanging out! Yes Cheryl, please post a setlist after the show...(allowing time for sleep-n-stuff)!!!

As much as I've teased you over the yrs. for variable things, it's mostly ALL been in fun.
Not only that, you do a great setlist. I used to read them, and feel like I was there.
I hope our kidding over the yrs. doesn't influence you posting a setlist. You seem to hone in on detail, which makes for a good read!

Hi ADG! You won't guess what happened! The concert people chased us & everyone else out of the concert hall saying they had move the equipment. So I asked where to go to see ya & they said to go outside near the bus. So we went there & Petie, Martha & Eric came too. This man said we couldn't go back in there & had to wait outside the gates. We had gone to a Bob Dylan gig at the Landmark some yrs back & had went in the back where the busses were trying to meet Dylan but never did find him. So here were are there thinking you would be out there.

The man wasn't too friendly either but rather official & said they didn't think the singers saw anyone after the gigs. Well Petie & Martha asked to see Dennis. So Dennis did finally get to come out. He didn't know where you were either. We had a nice time with him & Petie & Martha. We wanted to go back into the lobby & were about to but the man said it was closed for the nite.

We had hoped to see Jessica & Jennifer & say good-bye to them. They had said earlier that they were going to Blacksburg to visit some friends. We had talked to some man who worked at Dupont Spruance Plant & thinks he knew Mike & he'd went to see ya in 1967 at some college & you played till 3 am. He told us a shortcut to get to Blacksburg. Which this leads up to we figured Jessica & Jennifer are gone for the nite by now.

We had heard a rumor that you were sick & your voice was about to go out & you needed to save it for Carnagie & recording the Symphony gigs. So we figured that they didn't let you come out & you were really sick & since you couldn't come out had gone on the bus to rest cuz you were sick. I was really worried about you.

So I was in the wrong place. Out back of the Landmark. I could just kill myself! That's what I get for listening to concert workers who told me wrong LOL! Believe me I wouldn't leave that soon. <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15> Sorry we missed ya hon! See ya at the next gig!

Arlo!!! The show was great. I was so excited when you played "Darkest Hour"!! Please come back to the Maryland/Virgina area again soon.

p.s. Hey everybody, I saw Abe at the performance too... he was in a seat close to mine, but i didnt get a chance to go meet him. My two favorite musicians in one night... what a thrill!

As I've pondered the concert experience at the Kennedy Center Monday Night I've been thinking about how Arlo has taught me how to think the "the other way around"(i.e. CA to the NY Island-the back way to include the rest of the world). My favorite words that night of his were how music is for everyone, not just for the elite or the talented only; Music is for US! for how it comforts and inspires us and how it does the same for others through us. The most profound thoughts I've ever shared with others have been through music! I sang loud Monday night, so did my wife and younger son. It was magical, and it didn't stop after Arlo walked off the stage:
"As I went walking, into the Metro...."

Stantheman, thank you for sharing Arlo's words. That made me feel for a moment that I had been there.
