i didn't know that...an interesting bit of trivia!

boy howdy!

you know, i know i should have paid more attention to the weather forecasts and all, but i didn't...wasn't even thinking about it...when all a sudden the sky turned black. oh. then the wind kicked up and there was all this pinging out there..."is that hail? maybe i will go and watch!" but as soon as i opened the door and looked out and saw not hail but bright green acorns being blown off the trees i decided, maybe i won't stay out there and watch, and closed the door and ran down to the basement and as soon i got down there, there was this
C-U-H-R-A-A-A-C-K...WOMP! "oh no!" which made me feel a little sad...but lights were still on, but in the next room they weren't, "that's weird?"
but the storm passed pretty quickly and running upstairs to see how much happened, and then looking out the window saw tree sized branches smack snug up against the house, and then outside...well...it doesn't look too bad?...hmmm...but that is where all the power lines and stuff are and two of the three power lines (i know, that is an old fashioned system, the lady from the electric company this morning saw them and said it was obsolete, and i just looked at her) but one wire was left (there was still close to half power left! and with a massive extention chord, the fridge still works!) but the new phone and internet line was completely snapped and laying on the ground...a cybernetic mess. but the house looked okay...looks like, i think, i hope...but next day (today) i noticed a wet spot on the ceiling/ wall...dang! and upon closer inspection you could see a small hole up there (on the roof) where probably one of the limbs (there were two) hit directly and must have bounced far to get where it ended up (i can only imagine what that must have looked like) so there is what seems to be just a small hole (yay! just a small hole!) that needs to be fixed...*whew*

i am posting this on borrowed dial-up (copper-line) but wanted to check in. i hope all are well!

I guess half power and a borrowed copper-line are way better than no power!

Glad you're safe and okay. So sorry about the power outages and damage. I had seen on the news where they had bad storms out ya'lls way and wondered if the blunderites like you, Sue, the Wiz etc were okay.
