That is her, or that be her! Cat Power, or whatever she is calling herself! All those pictures of the strikingly beautiful woman whilst the song is playing......that is her singing the Dylan song. I first saw her on the video of the "Concert for George".......the memorial/celebration concert that Clapton, et al put together a year to the day following George Harrison's passing. She performs a great G.H. song, "Horse To The Water" in that show that can't be beat. Powerful voice, powerful presence!!!

I love Jessie's Jig. Especially Moby Book.

This isn't Steve Goodman, but I like it anyway -- two "duets" by Josh Ritter and Neil Gaiman, at the 1:19 and 2:28 points of this radio show:

It's actually a pretty entertaining (if long) show...another high point is at about 2:20 when there's a unique rendition of "I will Survive".

why Steve's of course

Here is an Oklahoma City (actually Capital Hill) legend covering one of the Bob songs

I like this remake of the WJ classic..the original featured Roy on guitar but this version has Poison.

oh! now i understand what you were saying,,,but i am pretty sure jools holland is a british fella :)
he has been in some of the clips i have posted, usually as mc but (since you mention him!) here he is with bela fleck

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9COzgloWjYI

here is another for fun with dr john!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcKhpBPFPoU

thanks for the tid bits! i am not at all familiar with cat power but am now learning that that version is on the soundtrack for the movie i'm not there (which i have not seen)...looks like an interesting cd!
maybe i will get to see her performance at GH's tribute sometime...now that i am aware of it!

hi eileen!!!! the clip on the link you posted doesn't seem to want to cooperate for me...
a quick search on you tube to try and find the ritter gaiman "duet" you are wanting to share (a quick search is not quite a proper search...slow connection) but from what i could glean quickly not so sure it includes the part you are talking about here...i will keep my eyes open though because i would like to see it!

and now on to heraclitis' clips..yay! (i so silly)

I love the Dr. John/Jools Holland, Agnes (and here's a really embarassing admission: I thought JH was a woman...I think I have him confused with someone else...he reminds me of Freddy from My Fair Lady in that one...)

Sorry the link didn't work for you...still works for me, so am not sure what the problem is...it is a long show (2.5 hours, but I could easily slide the marker around or just click on the timepoint) so maybe it just wasn't working for your slow connection...or maybe it was misbehaving. Owell. Here's another version of their first duet, with Neil but w/o Josh:

Yes, I know about that Jools Holland, but the one I'm talkin' about is most certainly not a man, take my word for it!!! And she is the one who is singing "Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again" that agnes posted. (I swear I'm not trying to confuse anybody :? )

Jools Holland had a BBC show that put popular mostly R&B singers in front of a big band. I saw Jools at the Cropredy festival a few years back playing with associated and associated members of the band Fairport Convention. This years show looks interesting.

Good video on that with Jools in there.

I saw this band there:
