so i was kicking a can around blunderland and stumbled across some lyrics galwaygirl posted (hi galwaygirl), and i get to thinking about stuff...
there is a playfulness in people that i seem to miss more and more, it seems there should be plenty
of room for humans to connect on a level that very few seem to know how or even understand anymore? then of course there are those who would want to be sure any playfulness is countered by pointing all the bad stuff that goes on in the world in case you should be having too good a time and as-if-you-didn't-know. as if you didn't know. which is when you feel like saying...well how about i put my foot up your ass! :) and by playfulness i don't mean necessarily things like, oh let's light rubberbands on fire and shoot them in the air or something, just a playfulness that i am not really sure how to explain and i don't really care to try to analyze...it just is was it is. (and i am not saying to the exclusion of all else...necessarily) (is that a disclaimer on all bases?)
so anyway, this is another sad song, corny maybe but sad

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSdV-1t3J6U

oh and any of this isn't meant as an answer to the lyrics galwaygirl posted...it is just where my head wandered

I remember the Cowsills. So sad 2 of them died with Barry Cowsill passing in Hurricane Katrina. I decided when I was young that when I got old I was gonna be boring like alot of the older people were and would still have fun...

Mike loved Elvis and used to sing with the record of this. The video is even titled Mike Sings Elvis. I'll post this one here as a tribute to my baby:

I'll be dog Tom Jones does it too. Mike liked him too but not like he did Elvis. He was Elvis #1 fan:

This version is neat too:

Here is another neat one of hers:

i guess i will take my place among society's queers ?

after all that fire and brimstone, maybe i am just being too sensitive, but i had to go dig up one of my happy songs...it is hard not to dance to this one!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qmaIdQ_-wU

i was feeling pretty sick last week, looking back at my posts i guess i did alright...no fire and brimstone so at least there is that, although there was that townes van zandt song, i was reluctant to even click on that title but i did anyway! and it sounded really beautiful, but man it was miserable too. so forgive me for that...i still think it was beautifully done...and it introduced me to the tanyas!

So sorry if the songs had too much fire and brimstone in them. They reminded me of Mike since Mike liked them. I wonder how he would've liked Nina Hagens versions of them if he were here?

what struck me is it seems to say with much vehemence that if i or any person does not subscribe to that belief system that it is presumed you are incapable of being any good at all and so are doomed. it is not random.

religion was not a small matter for me. it was a monumental issue.

i took it personally and wanted to say so. rather than pretend i didn't.
maybe i should have spoken up sooner, but i did not want to jump to conclusions. i decided to speak up this time. there are other people out there with other views, and i like to talk about them sometimes without feeling i will be in need of an exorcism afterward! a few times that is how it felt, not just once!

i actually like some gospel songs and hymns, and it is not like i don't appreciate some of the history as well, and don't get me started on that blues brothers scene if that counts!

anyway, religion or no...is no guarantee of anything! (my thoughts)

now let me see what kind of mischief i can get into lest i give myself airs!

I think that I find my balance most when I pay more or less equal attention (and alot of it) to both the storyline that I can see and hear and taste and smell and touch around me, AND the one that I feel surging around and playing out within me.

perhaps my approach to things in general seems strange at times (??)
but i did not feel i needed an exorcism.
