Yes it's true. 9/2 (thursday) will be my one yr. anniversary since my auto accident. Everyone has told me what a miricle I am. True. Even my cardiologist agreed. Most people that tear they're aorta usually don't survive. I'd love to think God saved me. Haven't ruled that out. But mostly, something inside of myself, made me hang on. Thru the worst of it. I owe my Physical Therapist a great deal, for teaching me how to walk again.

But in my eyes, I owe you all so much. The out pouring of prayers, good vibes, and most importantly your friendship helped emencely. For that I owe you a ton of gratitude. Seems good to be posting on boards again.

Dude, with all the shit you have gone through over the years, I always told you you would come out the other side better than when you went in, because I saw that in you. I think I was right, and I hope you agree.

Only the good die young, Rob, so me you Arlo and Larry are going to live forever.

Larry I do agree. It did help my self confidence, knowing someone was in my corner. As my therapist once told me, "Rob you have this uncanny ability to fall into a world of shit, yet you always get back up, dust yourself off, and move forward. She'd wished all her clients had that quality. It sorta comes natural for me. But the older I get, I'm dusting myself off, less and less. That's a good thing!

And Judy, as I've told you before many times. Your the big sister I always wanted. One that would love me unconditionally. Family can be the worst sometimes. After all, that's why God gave us friends. To make up for family! ( I do love all my immediate family) But they aren't always as easy to talk to as my friends here.

Judy I love you! You've given me good advice over the yrs. and always been there for me. I feel very fortunate to have met you, and have you in my life.

Tommorro will be a day of great reflection. I'd be lying if I didn't admitt I had my days, and wondered if it was all worth it. But as of late, I AM SO GLAD to be alive. Let's just say, I will be counting my blessings, with a little extra ump!

Hey Rob,
It's so good to have you back on this site again so whoever said it, I second that. What your Therapist said, my Dad being as yorkshirest as they come would say that " You fall in the shit and you always come out smelling like a rose every time. Seems this is very true.
I was gobsmacked when I heard you were in a horrendous accident last year and hoped you would be okay.
You gotta enjoy your life from this day on. Don't do that ever again, it scared the begeebers out of us.
Good to know those vibes are working well, I may need a few myself sometime.

Yeah that Arlo is quite a guy E.D.R. His vibe is contagious, and we all benefit from that. Playing guitar? I picked it up, after I got home, around Thanksgiving time & I just couldn't pull it off. I was just getting comfortable singin in front of people. I sorta hung out at a friends music store, and coinsodentally he was my partner. Somehow I got stuck with lead vocals. Richy's in his own band, and they play classic's and some heavey metal. But Rich sorta grew up in my home, and he just fell in love with folk music. So he had the best of both worlds, as life would have it, I was the only one he knew that was really into folk. Yeah, we could lose 3 hrs. real fast. Richy was always impressed how good I was at remembering lyrics. I did allot of Woody covers, and I had like 7 verses for 'So Long It's Been Good To Know You'... I had em all. I miss being able to sing, along with the box, as it took it all to be an act. I was never really that good at playin guitar, but man I could sing.

I sent musician 'Sim Pickens' from Oz a recording, and aked for a review. Slim's won the say academy award for best musical video, in his home Austrailia last yr. He and Dr. Baz. Anyhow, Slim lauged really hard. He and his wife both sat down, drank some wine, and played my stuff. His wife told him, Honey tell him to throw away his guitar. He can burn it for that matter! But he REALLY can sing... THAT guy can sing. It was the biggest compliement (sp ck) I had ever had. As I knew Slim wouldn't lie. And it was constructive on the guitar bit. I always had Richy to sorta cover me and I'd just stick to rythem. Neat story about Richy is we lost track as people do. He had gone on to college to Major in music. When I met him yrs. later and asked him about taking lessons, he got all remenisent. Said he couldn't charge me money, because if it wasn't for me, he would of never went to school for music... But it's nice. I'm starting to hang around the shop again as time allows. Richy eeks out a living giving piano and guitar lessons. But I think everyone is the same. You can leave a huge impression on someone, and not even know about it.

* Yeah, thinking now that I'm feeling more like my old self, is to get into playing harmonica. That might fill the void, that not being able to sing brings. I go in Flethcher Allen on the 13th for more throat surgery. Maybe I'll get lucky and end up sounding like Bob. Who knows?

Btw: Zap, it is the thought that counts. But I dig the words. Another thing I might try is some songwriting. DON"T say I didn't warn ya.. lol
