Yes, Dr. Horrible is wonderful! I almost posted it last night, but tired out before I could explain it. You also can view it on Hulu (http://www.hulu.com) and there will be a DVD coming out later in the year, complete with (musical) commentary by the cast, writers, and director and the videos from the Evil League of Evil contest (one of which I had posted last night).

If I can also go on just for a moment...Dr. Horrible is the creation of Joss Whedon (writer of Toy Story and, more important, writer/director of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a couple of other TV shows (and one movie, Serenity)), his brothers, and a sister-in-law. Along with NPH, who is great, it stars Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day. It was started during the Writers' strike, with the purpose/intent of showing the studios that writers could do something successfully without them. From the mission statement (on the Dr. H website):

"Once upon a time, all the writers in the forest got very mad with the Forest Kings and declared a work-stoppage. The forest creatures were all sad; the mushrooms did not dance, the elderberries gave no juice for the festival wines, and the Teamsters were kinda pissed. (They were very polite about it, though.) During this work-stoppage, many writers tried to form partnerships for outside funding to create new work that circumvented the Forest King system.

"Frustrated with the lack of movement on that front, I finally decided to do something very ambitious, very exciting, very mid-life-crisisy. Aided only by everyone I had worked with, was related to or had ever met, I single-handedly created this unique little epic. A supervillain musical, of which, as we all know, there are far too few.

"The idea was to make it on the fly, on the cheap – but to make it. To turn out a really thrilling, professionalish piece of entertainment specifically for the internet. To show how much could be done with very little. To show the world there is another way. To give the public (and in particular you guys) something for all your support and patience. And to make a lot of silly jokes. Actually, that sentence probably should have come first."

So, you know...it's not just about singing along with a supervillain's blog, it's about fighting the corporate system of control, and all that stuff.

The mushrooms were really cool. They remind me of this weird half-hour show that used to be on HGTV late on Sunday evenings...I forget the name, but it was a gardening show, except it was filmed from the point of view of an insect crawling around in the garden.

i wish i knew what i did with that 50X magnifying scope i had.
i know i have mentioned this before but i remember once turning a rock over
and finding all these blonde colored ants running around
so i put the scope down to them and had a look and jeeezus christ!!
i wasn't mentally prepared for what i saw and i flew backward onto my ass!
(then everyone who was standing there wanted to have a look as well)

I hadn't heard them in awhile either. But I listen to 60's & 70's music so that's probably why.

I discovered on YouTube a neat Russian group that does 60's & 70's music called the Dizzy Cats. Here are 2 videos of them.
