I like Imus altho I usually never get to see him cuz he's on too early. Arlo would be cool on there. I remember when he was a radio dj in NYC & whenever we could get him here in VA I thought that was sooo cool. That reminds me he is on now & oughta tune him in while I'm on the internet before I go back to bed...

Thanks for the links. We won't be going even tho it's over in the next state cuz not only is it too close to the Hampton, VA shows. But the weather i bad there this time of yr. Too bad this wasn't in the summer. Then we coupld've planned our annual trip to visit Mikes sister in Ohio around it. We go thru Charleston every yr on our way to Oh but dogoone it every time Arlo comes to Charleston, it's never in the summer. Oh well... :)

Hey, it's 12:30 in the morming, I'm sitting here reading the posts on arlonet while the TV is running in the bedroom. All of a sudden I hear Arlo playing the -I don't know what it is called - bazoo???, the tune from Alice's Restaurant where he and Geoff are sitting in the rented room when the landlady comes in "sniffing", and I am thinking that it is in my mind :? , then realizing it is coming from the TV. They actually are playing Alice's restaurant on German TV on channel 3sat, at a very unusual time I admit, but they are playing it. 8) Nothings lost.
Peace
Brigitte

Today on The View they did a segment on Huntingtons disease and Joy mentioned the famous folk singer Woody Guthrie had Huntingtons and asked what ever happened to his son Arlo Guthrie and Alice's Resteraunt and said that the boomers should know. I say we tell her. You can email her at www.ABC.com/theview.

E-mail is on it's way!

By the way...did anyone else watch a show called "Music Rising" on the Sundance channel today? It was all about how the music industry helped the New Orleans musicians after Katrina. It showed a brief clip of Arlo and Willie Nelson singing City of New Orleans..and a few short segments of an interview with Willy...but no mention of Arlo's part in putting that whole tour together. I was a little disappointed to say the least. Not that I don't like Willie Nelson, he has done so much for so many..but I think a nod to Arlo would have been well deserved.

You might remember the 70's show WKRP In Cincinatti which is about a rock station called WKRP In Cincintlyatti, Ohio. Well season 1 of it is out now & Mike & I got it recently. We were watching one of the eps, the one where the station has a contest & the prize was supposed to be $50 but Johnny Fever accidently says on the radio it is $5000 lol. There is a scene where Johnny & Venus Flytrap are in the control room splicing some tapes together. Well I noticed they had a copy of the first Arlo & Pete album sitting on top of a stack of records that s next to them. Bailey Quarters comes in with some record albums & sets them on top of the Arlo & Pete album. I thought that was so cool... :)
