So there seems to be a conspiracy afoot tonight to remind me of Arlo and by association to remind me of my friends from The Guthrie Center, etc. I worked this evening babysitting my church in Michigan (church agent they call it) until about 10PM, and there's not too much to do so I was reading one of those what's on kind of papers, and I stumble across a picture of the Guthrie family talking about an upcoming show in Ann Arbor, and I thought, huh, it's been a while.

So I leave the church at 10:30 or so, and just as I get into my car this feature starts on the radio about The City of New Orleans-- the train and this fundraising trip with Arlo Guthrie and there's an interview and it runs for just about the length of time that it takes for me to get home.

So I'm thinking that's a lot of jogging of my memory for one night, and I log onto Arlonet to see if anyone I know is still hanging out here, and I see that it so happens the church shows are tonight. How crazy is that?

Now it's just occurred to me to miss being there!

Anyway, I've had a couple of years where my focus has been on a lot of other matters and I didn't even realize that I didn't know when the church shows were. Guess somebody wanted me to remember.

Anyway, I don't know if I ever thanked the folks who signed a card for me a couple of years ago when my father passed away and I moved back here to Michigan. It really meant a lot to me to have your support during a difficult time, and if I didn't say so then, I wanted to say so now.

Hope the old familiar faces are all at the church this weekend, and hope you're having a great time and beautiful weather!

Laura Lee

Welcome back! We enjoyed your book on the church. You'll have to drop by more often. I'd bet you'd do great writing a biography of Arlo... :)

Hi, Laura Lee! Shirley and I were just talking about you today, wondering how you were. We've missed you at the Church concerts! Please come back!
