Thanks to all of you for your suggestions on what Arlo CD I should buy. It was very helpful. I was thinking about buying "Hobo's Lullaby" because it reminded me of Woody and how he travelled all over America, singing and playing his guitar. I thought "Hobo's Lullaby" could capture that wandering spirit. I see, now, that some of you recommend it.
"The Last of the Brooklyn Cowboys", which I took out of the library, is good cowboy music, and I think Arlo does a good job on it. It reminds me of music to sit by a campfire with a fiddle, etc., and dance to these tunes.
I've been listening a lot to the CD: The Best of Arlo Guthrie. I forgot to mention on my last posting, that another favorite song on that CD is "City of New Orleans". That song used to play on the radio often in the 1970's and 1980's, but not so much now.
The song "Darkest Hour", I find, is really nice to dance to. It has a really nice melody that you can really dance to. I really like it that Arlo wrote the words and music to that song. It has beautiful lyrics, and I almost imagine myself to be the woman who comes waltzing in, made of wings, wearing a black Spanish hat, white silk scarves, and a hundred sparkling rings.
For now, I've ordered the video, "Alice's Restaurant" from the Virgin megastore, here in Vancouver. Arlo must've been no more than twenty years old in that video. It's a favorite of mine and I want to own it rather than just take it out of the library. When I first saw it I was only twelve years old and that was 35 years ago.

LOL...do what I did...just find a way to buy one or two cd's a month or every 5 or 6 weeks......and before you know it...you will have most. You might go to his "Get Stuff" site and study the selections on all the albums..a couple albums have what others have also...you might eliminate one or two. But, just bite the bullet...figure a year or so, depending on your financial situation, and you will probably be able to get them all. The less available one's like actual concert recordings are what I am after, and I can't hardly find any.......this I need help on. Good Luck.

Thanks for your tips on how to collect Arlo CD's. I'm curious about how his other CD's sound like. I used to buy a lot of tape cassettes in the 1980's and a lot of them got damaged and warped with time and age. I'm careful about buying music, now. I own only two CD's now and they're both folk music.

Hobo's Lullaby is excellent!!! You will thoroughly enjoy it. It's one I highly recommend to everyone.

Can anybody advise about the music and formats available on the Trading Post forum? Once, a few years back on this website, I came across a snip of a recording of ADG playing with others: not an album. It was being "shared" on the forums, I think, and was available right here.
How can I find more of this? I've looked at the Trading Post forum, and follwed some of the links, but it all seems pretty obscure to me.
How/where's a good place to start?
