We are staying partway home in a Christian Retreat in Ghent, WV & will go on home on Sun. It looks like the only other folks staying here are from the Church of God. We went up to the Tamarack tourist spot where you can get food to eat & see crafts. They had a neat booth selling mountain dulcimers & bowed psalterys. I found a good deal on a bowed psaltery but I'm low on dough so Mike sadi maybe he'll order it for me for Christmas thru the mail. The reason it was cheaper is it doesn't have as many notes on it as some of them do. But still it's a start. The bowed psalterys are psalterys you play with a violin type bow. Gives ya the violin sound but much easier to play. I've been wanting one & this one has the notes listed on it so you know what notes you are playing. We heard a couple of really hilarious preachers on the radio telling jokes. We were watching the news on one of the channnels around here & the weatherman was on old man who looked like he was in his 70's & had white hair. he was really spry for his age & had a good friendly way about him. It was neat to see something like that.

Oh yeah the other day when we were in Columbus, OH I heard on the local oldies station there, CONO by the man. <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15> So wonderful to hear him on the radio again...

Hello, everyone!

The Saturday night concert at Cain Park was WONDERFUL!!! This was the first time I had heard the Mammals, and they are terrific. We also had great seats, front row right in the corner.

Arlo was looking fit, trim and healthy and the concert was great. Some old favorites, a few new tunes and he closed with a beautiful song from the Woody Guthrie archives "My Peace." It was super, and I'm still humming...you can get anything you want.... I've never heard 'Alice's' live before.

Well, after having a good Christmas having recived a surprize Bracelet consiting of 5 large Amber nugets of varying colours containg little things wrapped in sliver costing Alan £175!!!! (just a little bosting there <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15> ) New Year was just a good with a day trip to the Lakes.

though our house is looking very uncertain now (don't ask , really) Javan has now for all intenc and purpose beed diagniosed as having
1, Specific reading difficuty (dyslexia) incorparating a general learning difficultys.
2,ADHD
3,Handwriting difficulties
4, Borderline Aspergers Syndrome.

all in all meaning though he is now diagnosed it wont cure anything but it dose mean that it will be a lot easier to get some help for him out side of School.

Arlo is racing along, 22 months old and my mum asked him where his toes where, he told here "in my Shoes" which cracked me of laughing. he is dying of a cold at the moment so he is doing a very good impreshion of a wingy limpet.

things om the whole arn't going too badly and as Arlo will be starting play group in about 8 months and Javan is now getting the help he needs I'm even thinking of looking for a job for the first time ever. Scary thought. I'm thinking of starting with classroom asistant with enphasis on kids with spechil needs as I've done that when helping Javan at school, so I kind of know what I'm doing. I wouldn't mind working towords becoming a socical/youth worker but I'm not too sure I would be able to distance my self?

Any way not having been on the boards properly for a while because of being busy with Javan and formaly the house, I just thought I would just update you all.

Hope my Chrstmas cards all got though and hope that you are all well and stuff is going grate.

Glad you liked the card, hopefully you and a whole mess of other BENCHERS (and some Guthries, Mammals, Seegers etc.)canall get your butts down here at the same time and we can all have a Woodford Blunder!! They won't know what hit 'em!!

Hey Beverly! Good to see ya here! I hope Javan will soon get the help he needs.
I used to do work with Special Needs Children, and then worked for many years with Developmentally Disabled Adults, I'm here to tell you there IS no better job in the world! Generally the pay in nearly non-exsistant, but the rewards are so much greater than ANY dollar/lira amount. You'd be sooo great at it!
