We are headed to visit Mikes sister Phyllis in Columbus, Oh for 2 weeks. So on the way up we stopped to split the trip up. We spent Fri nite & Sat in Hawks Nest State park, WV. It is so pretty here. It rained earlier on Sat but fortunately cleared up. Breakfast was really good. We went out exploring the area. We ate lunch in Glen Ferris at the Inn there. It was so nice. Cloth napkins & tablecloths & hot dogs were $2.25. But I got a Hot Ham & Cheese sandwich. It looked like a beautiful place to stay. It dates back to the civil war & is historic. We stopped at some neat souvenir shops. I took up playing a new instrument on Sat. The Canjo! In a souvenir shop that's in a log cabin type bldg they were selling Canjo's so I bought one. You are probably wondering what one is. It is a can banjo. It's a banjo made out of a tin can with a wooden fretboard on it & has only one string. It is diatonic like a mountain (lap) dulcimer is which is where it plays in just one key which in the case of the Canjo the one string is tuned to just one note. I think the string is a banjo one. It is a neat thing! Already I learned to play some songs on it by ear. I am now on my Canjo world tour. Heh-heh. Off to Huntington, WV Sun where we will stay overnite then onward ho to Columbus, OH on Mon.
