Just thought you all might like to know, there will be a parade this friday in laurenceville NJ for Aaron's troop...the NJ 112th National Guard. HOWEVER those that are home injured are NOT INVITED to it!!!!!!!!, and also their awards, pins, promotion pins etc have NOT been given to them..they claim they are lost....MAYBE they will be sent in the mail someday! How sad is this folks, you spend whatever time it was fighting for your country, get shot at!take a bullet or 2 o r 10.. Almost die, still can't walk right, or sleep right...and then this news....

Grrrr<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/reddevil.gif" width=16 height=16> Any chance there's a local reporter brave enough to tell this story? Or, better yet, a national one? 60 Minutes?

Larry, that really sucks! More wonderful news for veterans is the Bush budget. Vets who want medical treatment from a DVA hospital will now have to pay $250 a year for the "privilege" (someone should tell the Bushies that it's not a privilege, but a right).

You need to call your local state and federal reps about your outrage. Isn't the National Guard still the Governor's province?

that is an outrage! i think mikey's right that the national guard is a state thing. i definitely think you should be letting your local and state reps know about this...and what ceashel said!

Yes... those in NJ should talk to state reps...

I spoke with someone in Clinton's office, and National Guard is not under the Armed Services committee that Hillary serves on.... I was told that this is under the Department of Defense (Rumsfeld) ... or that we should call the governor of New Jersey.

This is a despicable way to treat those who served. We need to ensure they receive the honor they have earned!

Why on earth would they not invite the wounded? Afraid it might show the true cost of this war and lose some rah-rah support? Too uncomfortable for the powers that be to look at the damage bullets and shrapnel can do? It's appalling.
