Sue, I am so glad for you! My sister had to have the traditional surgery 6 months after a C-section. She was barely recovered from one before the other hit. Apparently recovery is relatively "easy" because 3 months later, she announced her 2nd pregnancy!

That afternoon nap is probably the best thing you can do for yourself. It does take time to get all your strength back after surgery. As for eating pizza... that;s exciting!!!

Just take it easy. Each day you'll be able to do just a tiny bit more than you did the day before. Don't push it. Relax, go slow.

Glad you're feeling better. Shame about France. While he's been away, did you have someone at home to help you out?

Glad you're coming along, Sue. And glad you can now eat pizza! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>

My sister saw her new doctor the other day--the head of the department--and liked her a lot. Her re-excision and two more biopsies will happen the week of the 4th of July--don't know for sure when yet. I'll be seeing her briefly this weekend. My nephew flew out to visit her from San Francisco, where he lives, and they're driving to my folks' in NJ, and so am I. Of course, I can only make one of my usual mad 24-hour dashes home, but at least I'll get to see them.

Well, finally heard when my sister is having her re-excision and sentinel node biopsy. They are happening next Tuesday, the 13th. She has to get shot up with radioactive dye the day before for the biopsy. I don't know if she will glow in the dark. But if you all could aim some more blundervibes her way next week, that would be a wonderful thing....

Thanks, as always!

Talked to Nancy on Friday night. She's been doing a lot of research and lots of thinking, and has decided that rather than drag things out, she wants to have a mastectomy. She is hoping that it can be done this Tuesday, instead of the re-excision which was scheduled for that day. I'll let you all know for sure when I know. She feels good about her decision, and relieved, too, I think. Since her cancer is a kind which is so hard to detect, this approach will give her the most peace of mind. Vibes are still needed, of course. She really does appreciate them, and you guys are the best at sending them!

Vibes and prayers continue to be sent everyday! I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision to come to, but I think it's good that she's going with the course of action that gives her the best chance for sucess and piece of mind. Go, Nancy...we'll be there with you in spirit!

Judy, although I've never been in the position to have to take this action, I've thought about it many times. I think I would have done what Nancy's decided to do. Rather than take any more chances with biopsies and excisions, removal is probably the best choice. Peace of mind. That's what I decided to do with my ovaries. So they took my uterus too, who needs it anymore? Why take any more chances. I've got peace of mind, no pain and I've never regretted it.

Of course, ovaries can't be seen, no one but those I choose to know ever know... for Nancy this must have been the hardest decision but she'll have that peace of mind that comes after a decision is made.

I wish her all the best and may this be the LAST time she has to grapple with these kinds of decisions.

I admire you so much, Judy. And I think your being there for your sister will be a blessing to both of you. I wish both of you only the best.
