Portland Oregon, The Aladdin Theater, Arlo show revisited .... good medicine for what ails ya...!

This morning I finally laid down after being up for a few nights straight trying to meet a press deadline while important money had not come in and today was the last day to pay it or out of the house I go. Everything else was in the same shape...and I had done everything right. I felt beat up, kicked, down and out and I decided I would sleep till someone carried me to the curb.

Then....

God Bless Robin, the Portland show CDs came in the mail.

<FONT size="4">I AM HEALED!</FONT s>

I cried all over listening to The Bhagdad Blues that Johnny wrote and Sarah Lee sang...
I cheered to "Back By Popular Demand"
I laughed at Arlo's imitation of Sarah Lee singing Alice...
I am dancing around the house, singing, laughing and grinning even as I post right this minute.

Maybe you haven't seen Robins post offering to share the Portland show recording...I have a hard time finding some topics these days since things got changed around. I just happened to stumble on her offer when I was trying to find something else.
But you guys really need to take Robin up on her offer...make a trade of another show or something...That night was one of the most moving shows I've ever been to.

So....for all of you guys still feelin sick and stuff and haven't checked in with Robin bout this show....I'm promising you, it's the meds you've been needing!!

THAT'S what I'm talking about ... just stumbled onto her offer myself, and promptly emailed her.

Sorry it's been a rough road lately, Kitty. Mucho blundervibes (and much empathy as I've been there, done that) to you. So, here's hoping the money comes in, rent gets paid, sleep gets slept, job offers out the kazoo come in, and whatever else you need!

Kitty, I've been there before. Somehow, things have a way of getting straightened out just when you are at your lowest point.

As for Robin and the CD, I emailed her awhile ago, I just haven't had the chance to get the blanks and postage in the mail.

I'm looking forward to getting my copy before I head up to the church next month. But in the meantime, I do have the October shows playing on the car stereo all the way to class every day.

Well thank you ..everyone knows that Blundervibs are the strongest miracle working energy on the planet!! Then again, I'm gonna go ahead and give miracle credit to that Arlo guy and his family for keeping that Love focus beaming so constantly ... isn't it awesome how we feel better leaving a show than when we went in...Something about that way he presents "things" wrapped in humor, kindness and a sort of humility...rubs off and there we glo.

Anyway, the people came up with the money they owed me, the rent, water and power is pais, my press stuff is in on time and I've got a wonderful job offer, working with kids at a great camp...that is just about as good as a full night's sleep!
All of that happened after the Portland CD arrived today, so .... well....it's obvious, isn't it?

I think that all the heavy road tripping Arlo and crew have been doing this year has added to performance intensity. I can hear a curious roughness in all the voices...not a bad thing...more of a STRONG sound..it's hard to put my finger on it, except maybe it's like the way a new level takes over when we push ourselves harder than we knew we could...
Sarah Lee's voice seemed to me to have a new power to it. Still airey, but solid, womanly...again, the word "Intense" is all I can describe it with, but it's more than that, even.
Let me know what you all think when you hear it...see if you hear something new and wonderous too!

I was thinking today about the power of the internet...look at how MoveOn.org has given such powerful voice to the People! I think Bhagdad Blues and Back By Popular Demand should be heard by everyone as soon as possible.
I'm thinking that we could help make that happen...start sending emails everywhere, hound the TV stations, etc...

Anyway, for the first time since the big windy hurricane blew our houses and lives down here on the coast, I feel strong again...

<B><I>"...Though we froze at Valley Forge
We burnt the butt of ole King George
From that fire we formed the USA
And if those flames again were fanned
We'll get this country back by Popular Demand..."</B></I>

Thanks Robin...
Thanks Arlo et. al.
Good medicine!
