Yeah, Pam... I probably wouldn't give anyone else advice either. I'm just very frustrated, as if I'm about to put 10 $200 bills on a roulette wheel and hold my breath, knowing that no matter which way it ends up, it'll be wrong.

To make it even worse, I lov emy car so much, it's a perfect fit. And, when I tried out the feel of the other one, it too was a perfect fit (go figure, they're both Subaru wagons). And I love the look of the white one (it' 2 years newer). Then I think about my little burgundy baby-wagon and I start crying again.

I guess I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't... maybe I'll fix mine and buy the other one, so I can't go wrong either way!

Hey now... there's a thought! So much for allowing myself to ramble.

It took all week, but I finally found a mechanic willing to work on my differential. For $200-$250, he would tear it down and diagnose what it needed. Then it would be up to me what I wanted to do.

Yesterday he called to tell me that it was, for sure, the differential and he'd open a claim with my warranty company. They approved the claim for $850 of the total $1,039. What a relief!

So, since I'd already figured on $2,000 and was "off the hook," I'm having him replace the pan gasket and valve cover gaskets while it's there.

I am breathing major sighs of relief. I should have my little baby-wagon back on Thursday night. Then I can call my body shop and reschedule the body work that was supposed to be done tomorrow.

Thanks for all your help, emails, etc. Your blunderwishes pulled me through.

Blundervibes desperately needed. I opened my email this morning--Bruce, the husband of a very dear long-time friend of mine, wrote to say that Gini had a brain aneurysm last Friday, and had taken a turn for the worse over the weekend and may not make it. He had tried to reach me, but I must have been away at the time. I left a message at their house and just called the hospital. He had just left to go home for a bit, so at least she's still alive, but no news beyond that as they will not give me any info.

She has a teenage daughter (had her first and only child at 41), and an 18 year old adopted son. She's a wonderful person and devoted mother, an artist, crafter and, like Pat, she's a talented quilter.

Please send as many vibes as you can.
