While waiting for rides, hitch hiking across the county, I think the year was 97 or 98, I wrote down a few observations and I thought I would share some of them, I am very glad that you folks seem to think they were worth reading.....Thank You

more dirt from the side of the road....

Hell like Gold is where you find it, either in people or in places...............

I do not think responsively,
I think originally,
I do not react,
I act,
I am not a victim of circumstance.......

Everyone wants to save the Earth,
but no one wants to do the dishes....

I love you, I spoke the words in my mind but they fell into silence and left no echo behind...............

your comments reflect my thoughts, Nathen...

I sometimes feel that I am only superficially experiencing this life given me, and that I am only a reflection...

Real is what I believe. I am learning this, slowly.

Alone in a world of strangers, I remain in the shadows, I cloak myself in silent least my facade be shattered.

While some remain in the shadows, others of us stand in the sun... yet cast no shade

I am nothing... how could I be everything?

Wyldflower, you are too kind, in your honor do I post yet litter found along life's highway.

Remove my mask and you'll see not the hero,
but the naked child a weeping,
Peel back my rotting flesh and you'll find neither an angel nor the devil, just one more vidtim of humanity....................

At the hour of my birth, did not the angels weep?
At the hour of my death, will not the earth open to receive me?
Like a river of blood flows into an ocean of tomorrows, the light at the end of the tunnel is behind me and I stagger foward into the darkness of a new day..............

good grief, isn't there anything a little lighter along this highway? ahhhhh heres something now.

I think I have learned a great lesson about being myself. Like a ship that puts out to sea, I start off in the correct direction but I get off course due to life's events, and like the ship, I must learn, where I am and what corrections are required to get back on course, that is what I must remember, where it is I am going in life and when I am going off course, to make corrections.
Daily reflection is also required and it will be my tool to maintain the path.
Enlightment may never bring about wealth as man knows it, but it is a treasure beyond man's price.

I have looked for God with the eyes of man, now I know that God can only be seen with a Godly vision. To understand God one must use Godly perceptions, herein lies the key to discovery....................................

hey I never said these quotes were good, I just said they were observations made while waiting beside the road.

As for that "empty reflection" feeling, as Paul says, now we see as through a glass darkly--then we shall see him as he is (or see ourselves as we are). Maybe there are things we are not meant to understand in this lifetime--just questions to save up to ask later. What do you want to ask God/The IS/the Supreme being when you meet Him/Her?

You seem to stand alongside some rather perceptive roads... while I tend to sit at home and read the maps.

So I strike out onto the road, and find...

My face reflected in a puddle... ripples distorting what I see...
Or is that ripply, wrinkly, imperfect vision the truth, and the smooth-surfaced reflection a dream - a wish - a lie I've been telling myself?

And what would I ask the All-Knowing? right now, I don't know... perhaps, what I need to ask is: What is the Question?

As long as I can remember, I have been "just going down the road", there have been some roads I wish I had detoured around, but there have been others filled with laughter, joy, and yes love, the sweet love that only the young can know. I have stood on the mountain tops, I have been diving in the oceans, I have been in the canyons and so called wastelands, but I have found that where ever I am, what ever I do, the crap I carry with me stays with me, and the crap I leave behind, never bothers me again.

I don't see a lot of seperation between me and God, so I don't guess there are any questions I need to ask, it seems to me, that any God great enough to be my God, is one who, thought this whole thing out and equiped me with all I needed in order to do what it is I am here to do. I have never really been hungry, never too tired, never too cold and never too alone. There have been plenty of times when I lost faith, and those are the dark times when a cup of hemlock was preferred to sunlight, and I guess I wrote about them to share the knowledge, What ever the hardship might be, "This to shall pass", oh how the words are needed on the storm tossed sea, but rest assured, the new dawm will bring with it, if not joy at least a release from the pain.

Wyldflower, be not dismayed by your visions, the price of enlightment is dear, and it was never intended for everyone. If you do find enlightment, it is for a purpose. The roads I have gone down, could take the life of another, in fact it should have taken mine over and over, but as it says in "Illuisons" "If you wonder if you have fullfilled your purpose, the answer is, if you are still alive you have'nt". I have no way of knowing why I was spared, the only real message I have is this, "You were made for this world, the world was not made for you.", now it's meaning is up to you to understand, but this is the first of eight seeds I have to plant, what fruit they bring, I do not know, my job is to plant not to harvest.

I thought perhaps, this topic was suitable for some deep thoughts regarding, who we are, why we are and what is to become of us.

Perhaps my idle chatter has helped someone, perhaps I have but filled some more space, but in honor of Todd, I share with you, the observations I have made along the roads of yesterday.

Any road
oh I've been traveling on a boat and a plane
in a car on a bike with a bus and a train
traveling there and traveling here
everywhere in every gear

But oh Lord we pay the price with a
spin of a wheel- with a roll of a dice
ah yeah you pay your fare
and if you don't know where you're going
any road will take you there

and i've been traveling through the dirt
and the grime
from the past to the future through the
space and the time
traveling deep beneath the waves - in
watery grottoes and mountainous caves

but oh Lord we've got to fight
with the thoughts in the head with the dark
and the light
no use to stop and stare
and if you don't know where you're going
any road will take you there

You may not know where you came from
may not know who you are
may not have even wondered how
you got this far

i've been traveling on a wing and a prayer
by the skin of my teeth by the breadth of a hair
traveling where the four winds blow
with the sun on my face - in the ice
and the snow

But oooeeee it's a game
sometimes you're cool, sometimes
your lame
ah yeah it's somewhere
and if you don't know where you're going
any road will take you there

i keep traveling around the bend
there was no beginning, there is no end
it wasn't born and never dies
there are no edges, there is no sides
oh yeah you just don't win
it's so far out - the way out is in
bow to God and call him Sir
but if you don't know where you're going
any road will take you there.

Wow, Lou-C that is excellent, perfect timing, I was just going to post that there is no need to ask for directions if you don't know where you are headed to begin with.

I just got cable hook up. I was very surprized that the entire Brainwashed was available for download. Before it wasn't.

Kinda liking Picesfish???? Definately that "Harrison" style, even if Jeff Lynn did have to fill in the guitar parts. It's mostly George, for sure....<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/wink.gif" width=15 height=15>
