Big Purple Truck Roadshow has come to an end, driver fired for having a bad additude.

The company wanted me to go to New Jersey and pick up a load for California, I said okay but how about I swing by the office and get paid first, you guys are two weeks behind in paying me. Well, they agreed to let me stop by but then the told me that things just weren't working out so they would have to let me go. I got my stuff from the truck, got the paperwork done and then asked about my cheque....hmmmmm, it seems they could not pay me until they got the paperwork cleared, and as for the last two chegues they owe me, they would try to pay me next Friday.

I noticed that of the five trucks the company has, there were now five of them in the yard and of the five drivers they have there were five waiting to get paid, so it does not look hopeful that any funds will be forth coming. Oh well such is the life of the everyday truck driver.

Big bad bummer. There you go, taking Kerry trees to cheer so many homes, then get stiffed right before Kerrymas.

Write 'em. Send it registered. If they go into bankruptcy, you'll have a better chance at getting something out of it. 'Course, it will be five years from now, but still...Better yet, get a <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/pimp.gif" width=22 height=23>LAWYER to write the letter. Sometimes that's all it takes. Scares 'em.<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/uptosomething.gif" width=15 height=15>

I hope you get a job with a better company real soon.

Oh wow, sorry to hear about your losing your trucking job. Hopefully you'll find a better one soon. Meanwhile just stick it to them. They should pay you. I suspect trucking is a high stress job cuz my late Uncle Floyd was a trucker & he had to retire out due to a heart ailemtn. Well he had a lot of neat trucking stories & made alot of friends over the cb radio... June 1983 was a memorable moth for me. Uncle Floyd died that month & then later than month I met my hubby Mike...

Well it's traditional at least, losing your job and not getting paid, just in time for Christmas.
Aaaawwww, Nathen. That sucks, man <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/mad.gif" width=15 height=22>

damn, Nathen, sorry to hear that... I think the advise, here, is "spot-on" as the Brits say...1st, call them or visit in person, be diplomatic & firm, let em know you'll persue your due compensation thru state employment offfice, and that you'll send a letter to the trucking company as well as state ED office, documenting hours worked and payment due, let em know you fulfilled your obligation, now. it's their turn....then, if they delay, let em know you are being advised by a national panel of employment experts, in an on-line forum, inspired by a 2nd generation labor/civil rights advocate (just don't say "Blunderites")

Fuck all that. Just go beat the shit outta them with a hockey stick until they pay you. You people complicate everything! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif" width=15 height=15>
