Somehow I missed seeing Rob's lyrics to "Long Ago and Far Away". Just saw them this morning. (Time warping again...)
Thanks Rob...Let's work with this...any ideas on how you hear it?

Theres a vally by that snow covered mountain..where a clear pond reaches to the sun...The reflections there will ----- you if you stare ..innertwining the past and things to come..Can there be brighter days ..or just tears on lifes page..are there treasures where there is hope..you will find your self again yealding to lifes wind ....winds of sorrow ..and winds of hope..........................................In that vally by that snow covered mountain...Where the clear pond reaches to the sun..will the Alpha and Omega ...grasp your hand with a living vine....there you will find your treasures ...a place where the winds of times can not hold...your heartbeats will find rest there ...and you hopes will start to unfold....the land of light with hearts of gold

Just wanted to take a second to acknowledge our friend and fellow blunderer, David LaMotte. I mentioned this project to him, and he is enthused - however, he is also extremely busy, with his 'Resident Artist' gig at the school in Wyoming about to start, and then a tour of Australia & New Zealand, followed by Europe. (I'd tease him about this not including Chicago, but I've pretty well played that gag out.) However, David has offered to give one of his beautiful songs to this project, and will be in touch with Kitty to make arrangements.

You can see David's site at
http://www.davidlamotte.com .

My heart is absolutely soaring from the caring gestures of all you folks, helping to send some musical caring to our Russian brothers and sisters. Love in progress. Thank you, thank you all.

Just to let you all know...I have a meeting with the Arts Council here this week to see if they'll back us with some grant money for the Disc costs.
We are also looking for Russian immigrants to help with lyric translations for the lyric sheet and graffics and to invite them to sing some of the chorus (on the first song we wrote) in Russian.
I read in an article last night, stating that there are several babies due soon to wives and girlfriends of the late crew. The women who were not actually married are not going to recieve any help. One couple had put off their planned marriage because of the death of the crew member's father, honoring a Russian custom of a mourning period. This one particular mom to be expressed some fear for the baby's future, saying that by the time the baby is born the world will have forgotten them. All I could think of when I read that was, let's show her that we haven't, and won't!
Thanks again to all of you who are participating in this. Together we are helping to bring about real world friendship.
It occurred to me that when we complete this project, we could look around and see what we could come up with, as a group, for our own neighborhoods as well. Just a thought....

I've been working all day on arrangements of the different songs. I've got tentative music and melodies for "Rise Up" (Bumper's lyrics) and Rob's lyrics..title??? (How about "One Big Land"? I'm not sure if you already have an idea of music, Rob...do you? If so, good. If not, I've some that you can listen to and see what you think....)
Now, if anybody out there would like to do some of the vocals, instruments, etc. If you want to, I'll figure out the logistics of the recording part.
We have 4 finished, recorded and ready to go songs now, thanks to Duncan, David LaMotte, Noah Paley and I'm adding one of mine intended for another CD.
I'll send you all each another tape adding the additions. Please send the first tape back to me if you can so I have work tapes to keep sending to you...

Thank you, Bumper!!! They are wonderful!
I just got back from a meeting with the art's council, and they are going to help with the cost of the blank CD purchase. That's great!!!
I have the new songs just about ready to send out. Hopefully be in the mail tomorrow to everybody.
