Mark 11:20-21
King James Version (KJV)

20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.



I don't know about you but "dried up from the roots" don't sound good to me! Watch it Goofus, don't go messin' with the word of the LORD!

It is certainly the morning of an unsettled mind
wake this morning t the fear and awe of the LORD
bringing to me the clarification of the fig tree situation

You know its the constant bright white light
banging in my brain
the visions that won't remain but
I fear their return

as I ponder their return I think of my own
vice ridden little body and I cry out
oh LORD, why have you chosen me
a pathetic little vice ridden atheist
to be your conduit
I don't even believe in your shiny ass
Then boom the bright white light fills my head
There I am in my own dreams
squintin, shading my eyes and
reaching for a sip of coffee
right there in the presence and the magnificence
of the Lord (god that is bright, is there a dimmer switch somewhere?)

my eyes focus and I look upon the robes and the great beard and the singing angels and the dark sunglasses
The LORD is wearing designer shades
I am like, "I got to put up with this light and you are wearing designer shades?"

then the light fades and it all starts over again
waiting for god to share the skinny on the figs
one more cup o coffee
and an unsettled mind to go!

(for some reason I hear a
crack crack...and some woman yells, "Sunbeam done shot the sheriff!"
I find myself running north on hi way 51

I bet there is hot music, gambling, strong drink and ladies of questionable character involved!)

Suddenly I'm wanting to eat a fig. And look up figs in the Bible.

A bit late in the year for lightning bugs.

Perhaps just a fig-newton of the imagination......?

As the season brought the curse upon the fig!

The dreams have left me now
no bright white and sunglasses
I find myself walking in a fog
along a river bank
with fields of corn
yielding to fields of rye
yielding to fields of alfalfa
and then buffalo grass
and great flocks of beasts
and then I walk up the river bank into
a field of stones, oddly distributed
stones all along the left bank
and then I see a tree
up yonder on the skyline about 100 yards
and laughing, the sound of laughing


and it wakes me up?

we all have dreams of misfortune
mine was up on a hill
he went by the name of wayside
but he seems like laughing bill
he leaned on a sack of corn dust
and boiled chicory coffee in a can
I don't know the years he'd spent
I knew he had roamed the land
the man, he had crazy fire in his eyes
but he didn't give a damn
about any possible tomorrows

the thing about the tree and laughing...
i mean i was into the flow in your writing and following the dreamscapes...and then the thought of the tree and the laughing just sort of got me to pondering...and it sort of led me to the gnostic apocalypse of peter. if it is not too strange (simplistic?) a thing to say...it was an interesting and fun (?) way to be introduced to a thing i never heard of. ...more strange dreams i guess

i am thinking that humans were hoping that gods could save them from what humans seemed inept at? but then there is the whole gods being a manifestation of humans wanting to dominate?
