No problems with you Gus. I might as well just come out and say it: my comments were positive about you, H. & Agnes (fact-checking, and keeping an open mind), and negatively directed at doc, who seems to operate in a diametrically opposed manner most of the time. I think we all wish he would get with the program and engage these discussions with more civility and humility.

i am kind of shy really and don't really know most of you. lately i find myself avoiding a lot of this. it just seems so nasty and offensive and a lot of arguing. i don't need the bad vibe so i'm not around much.

Things were different here when we were actually moderated. I have seen a couple of assholes come in and make people leave the site because they felt they were being harassed. I can't see myself sitting back quietly while this is happening. The other side to that is that I become the asshole. A conundrum I haven't quite figured out.

This is my favorite place on the internet. I am usually here several times every day. I learn, I laugh, and I love. It is so often lately that the strings of stuff on the strangely talented thread pick me up and allow me to refocus. There is a strange collective consciousness that this board develops occasionally. Kind of like the feeling the people walking out of an Arlo show have.

I keep rambling when I guess what I am really trying to say is: Thanks!

Love is sublime. What does that mean?

Sounds religious don't it.
Like in the Apocryphon of John
or the creation myths of India

Only the one exists..illimitable,
unfathomable, immeasurable and invisible
This presence of the pregnant bellies
Creations contained in Vishnu and Brahma
and all creations of the universal
In an act of longing it erupts in passion
and tosses the delusion of desire
across the universe
and in the dissipation of the great chaos
our little sad passion plays form
and dissolve in the gloam
as we strive for each other
to experience, if only momentarily
the light of the sublime

(The great cosmic wow now!)

I thought that was all about.. God all alone there and longing for something because there was really nothing to long for when you possess all that can be possessed. You got it all, what do you need? Kind of like being Mitt Romney....I got it all, the only thing I need is to be President...that will satiate all my desire...I will be fulfilled. Or like Paul Ryan, I can meet my full potential if I can convince everyone I am right. The reality does not matter? I mean, what is reality but what you can sale that poor dumb bastard down the street!

So the greater than god (both the Rig Veda and the Apocryphon (that is a cool word, Apocryphon is a word I seldom use) are quite clear on this) So the greater than god was feeling blue because he (of course its a he) had nobody or thing to pine for. So, he created a world of longing, everybody wanting what they can't have.

There you have it! Creation in a nutshell!

the religions i know are over the top ("over the top", a switching of gears here)

no book of secrets referenced, just an honest thought

being among the "illiterati" can have its perks?
