I think I have an old record album around here with the Electric Prunes on it among other artists. I always liked that song...

Ah a simpler time you'd like? well do a web search for Guinan's Store (garrison NY) which closed the end of January. There are several you tube videos which capture some of the flavor and flair of the place as well as the music which was played and never with a cover charge.

thanks!
some of what i read made me think of a place i worked one summer, although it wasn't nearly big enough for live music or anything like that...but was a tiny "country" store with a porch and great big coke machine (in proportion to the porch) and noisy wood floor with not a bit of shellac left on it if there ever was any on it...and looked like it was accidentally dropped on the corner of "highway" and "busy street", but really it had been on that spot for quite a while. all kinds of folks would come in for their morning coffee and breakfast sandwich (and that wacky back and forth that seems unique to mornings)
...the fare was as ordinary as it could be but for some reason tasted a lot better than that.
anyhow it just made me think of that

I suppose that the libs invented the "myth" that George W. is stupid too?

That's not a myth-if he were any more so e would drown in the rain.
