You start feeling old when you have dinner with your friend who you used to jump in the car and drive to Canada with on a Friday night, (from NY) and you are both in amazement - when your son/gdson is tells you he is going out after work tonight. (Adding to the injury you're having the Early Bird Special).

Oh yeah, been there... cept from MI.

You know your getting old, when you read the obits, and you start noticing people you've known all your life, are dropping like flys...

Or as Aunt Alice put it..... Robert you know your getting older, when you read the Obiturarys, and you realize, that you know more and more people, that are in there... ( e.p. old classmates, old teachers, old equantainces )

And your really getting older, when you turn to the Obits, just to make sure your name isn't there!!!! ( alice lemeir )

I've dont quit well in the aging process. Have all my hair, and my teeth, and don't have any grey hair yet...... But I do notice allot of crows ft. But to be honest, I've had crows ft. since I was 25.... I guess they are just more prominent now..... People tell me I look 40.... And I'll be 50 in March.... But I guess I get that from my Dad. He's 84, and he could pass for 70, both body and mind..... At least I have something going for me, in some aspect of life..... I just hope, it's a continuing trend.... And I end up like me Dad....

But the one thing that is sorta creepy.... I get those wild ear hairs... Nothing trajic... Just will have a stray hair ( on my eye brows too ) from time to time, that's like 2 inches long compared to all the rest.....

Sue bugs me out about em..... But she loves to tease me, as I have no grey hair, and she's 7 yrs. younger than I... And if it wasn't for #9 black made by clairol, she'd be having that Emmy Lou Harris thing going on....

LOL: Your as young as you feel....??? In which case, I feel like I'm 64..... but when all is good, and I'm feeling great, I feel about 30 something.... age is a funny thing............ not ha ha ha funny...... u no what I mean? I think?

e..p. like after good love making. I feel like I'm 21 for about 45 minutes... Wierd phenomenom that is?

I check the obits every morning...

Folks tell me that I look 40...
I feel like I'm 80...
and I'm right in the middle.
You do the math.

my second oldest brother told me recently that life begins at 50. I pray he's right, as I can't dodge that bullet again this yr.....
So SD, if life begins at 50, that makes you 10 yrs. old.... Not a bad age.

Chronologic...Whatever.
In real years I am 60 years old.
Sometimes I feel like I'm a 25 year old, trapped in a very old skin.
My mind is sharp{like your Dad}...
My body is in fairly good shape{like your Dad}...

But, when I look back at all the things I have done, and all the things I have seen, sometimes I really don't wanna get outta bed in the morning.

Waaay back in the day...
I lived in Da Bronx.
Had a guy I usta hang with.
Name was Rob Brown.
Found him DEAD, with a spike in his arm, in a dank, dark, dirty basement.

That's why I always read your posts.
And I pray.

EOS

My cheap ass sig:
Been there, done that...
didn't buy the shirt.

One bright spot...... at least in Connecticut..... they still "card" you when ya buy beer and booze, even if you look old. It's a state law, but it still makes my Sweetie feel better!

I can identify with the following quote except for when my Mom (age 87) is in the room:
Bill Clinton said,
Quote:
"For most of my working life, I was the youngest person doing what I was doing. Then one day I woke up and I was the oldest person in every room...."

On another note:
My daughter and her husband and their two cats leave today for Heidelberg, Gemany to live and work for the next few years. Can't wait to visit them in the Spring. When I looked up stuff on Heidelberg I found this info on Mark Twain http://www.pw.org/mag/pc_heidelberg.htm
which reminded me of Arlo's Delta Queen trip and spending some time in Twain's home town while the boat got fixed and of my childhood years spent across the river in Illinois. When my daughter went to college in MA and after graduating continued to live in the area I drove through the Hartford area a lot where Twain lived for some time and last spring was in Bermuda where Twain used to love to go every chance he got. I think Mid-westerners like to travel... to similar places anyway. When I get to Heildelberg one of the first things I plan to do is take a boat trip down the River Neckar and like Twain may get inspiration for the next step in my journey.
Oh well, best get back to work...

Not the one with Mark Twain, I hope! Then you'd be really old!
