Are you so sure, little grasshopper, that it is not the donkeys doing the leading?

And, if you seek a jackass, then you should be led by a donkey while riding a donkey, and you may end up at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave in Washington DC.
If you seek enlightenment and the Dali Lama, you should ride a Llama, for Llamas don't ride on the wrong track, for they ride no track at all, as tracks are for trains and their destination is predetermined by the tracks they are on, whereas Llamas and their riders are free to chose their own path, being all the while selectivly oblivious to the paths they do not chose. This path, not predetermined is the one that will lead you to the summit of Mt. Blunder. Maybe.

the llamas, like man is contoled not by the paths they follow but the tracks they leave behind. Some men lay tracks on which trains do in fact follow, and upon those tracks in the hot waste land of Texas does a grasshopper lay upon the track enjoying the Sun, declares to it's self that this is nirvanna only moments before the train kills the grasshopper, unkowingly and without caring, I must now lay some tracks myself and get out of here before I start to think about what I just wrote.

yea, teasin ya, Nathen....
that was beautiful, Larry..i like that..
Whew, the relaxing exileration of familiarity, of knowing that there is a place, in cyber-space, a reflection of reality, such as it is, where one can practice SO, knowing that supportive others read, comment & reflect a fascination with the unknown and unknowable..sort of a safe harbor, on the cosmological sea, of life......makes me feel better...

I started out with a few questions, and now I find that I don't even know what I was asking about? Is that SO?

But seriously,
Thanks for all your input--gave me some new directions to direct my thoughts, AND I ordered my copy of Illusions from my local library.

Ahh yes. We have answers to which we don't have questions, and questions to which we don't have answers, yet we spout these answers and questions in such a manner as to have others nod in agreement. In the search we are all involved in, often questions lead to others questions, but not answers. And, answers sometimes bring about other answers, but without questions. The later is what happens when man thinks that it is he that makes the rules.

And Bumper, I think you about nailed it!

Please try and remember, all statements must be in the form of a question, don't you recall the many lessons? All questions must assume the form of an answer, then it will answer it's self and as such it will be a satement which will require the answer to be in the form of a question.

But also remember that if we have the questions AND the answers at the same time, they would form a circle, and one cannot escape from a circle. If however one were to have only either the questions OR the answers, they would form a linear projection for which there would be no boundries.

The question begs to be answered, would we be within the circle or without, having but the question or the answer is indeed linear, like a single rail which spans but half-way across the canyon, it is good to have that much but one must be careful how one uses it.

Any infinite linear projection would bisect any infinite universe that contained it in equal parts no matter where it was located. This would give anyone on that "rail" equal access to either side of it, which can't be said for a circle.
Circles are completed when questions are combined with answers, or when answers are combined with questions. Circles are therefore finite, and are universes unto themselves. When you have endless questions or endless answers that never meet each other, then you have the endless linear projection that gives you access to the entire infinite universe.
I now predict that Nathen and Bumper shall add to this to form a circle, and by combining questions and answers shall diminish thier universe, but not mine.
Here ends the lesson for today.

Please also remember that one of the best ways to become enlightened in the ways of Selective Obliviosity is to balance it with equal parts of Applied Confusion , a human sense of awe,and the knowledge, however slight, of what you should care about and what you should not care about.

One exercise to help clear ones mind to the point where you have only question upon question without answers, is to imagine yourself as George W. Bush taking a third grade math test.

ah yes, but know this, oohhh SO devoteees....:eyeroll:
Bishop Larry is of the more conservative school, of SO, where linear geometric shapes serve as symbols, of linear projections of mental musings...MENMUS, or, in the esteemed Bishop's analogy, geo-MENMUS if you please....whereas..Bishop Nathen & I, are of a more organic SO aliegance
he sees the universe, replecated in a gensing root, & I, in the arch of an egret wing, or the sparkle of a 4 part harmony note...
these disparate representations of intellectual models, are not on a "correct/incorrect" contintuum
However, since Bishop Larry, engaged in a predictive/defining speculation, of the subsequent responses, Bishop Nathen & I would produce, let me call his closed circle & raise him one double helix cinnamon roll, cool?
P.S.
I dare someone to read this thread aloud, this weekend..
PLS TAPE THIS TOO< OK, SHELLY? maybe arlo'll do color commentary...

FYI Bumper, Bishop is a term that fits me, because I move in a straight line. However, you and Nate are Knights, because you move in such an L shaped way that could form a circle if you moved more than twice. Now even though you may say" In ceromonies of the horseman even the pawn must hold a grudge", don't take it personally. It's just where the linear infinite universe bisects the circular little one that you and Bishop Nathen occupy that allows me to see that.
