This song pops into my head around this time every year. I especially like this wild and carefree version, with that corny-ish country twangy-thingy only Bobby can get away with:

i had a van i could jump start and it wouldn't matter which direction you were bound on a hill, going frontwards, or backwards, i could do it. never hadda run it down a hill this size though…. !
but it was a van to beat all vans…just an example, every now and again the horn would go off all by itself, and when i say it would go off, i mean it would go on, and stay. like at a red light for instance.
i remember this one guy who was in front of me once turning around, looking back like, "what in the hell is the matter with somebody?" and i would just raise both my hands up like saying, "look mate, no hands!" didn't have much control over it, would just have to drive and not worry about it….maybe smile and wave occasionally. and it would turn back off just as suddenly

good times….

anyhow, this video made me think of that, good song too!

p.s. caught a cold so, pardon if i am more delirious than usual (and at this point, no medication involved)

a nice day to stay in and repair a hole in my jeans. but tell me, why, oh why, do sellers feel a need to "distress" jeans for you? give them that "worn" look. i can see "pre-washed", then you know how they will fit…post washed. but i don't need any help wearing out my jeans, thankyouverymuch. still, i wound up getting them anyway ("mildly" distressed) cuz it was all they had and they fit nicely,,,but these, my dress-up-and-go-to-meetin'-jeans, are still way too delicate…the seams are intact and all, but the rest of the jeans are shit!

just sayin'.

don't get me wrong cheryl, i did not buy a pair of ripped up jeans. christ. they were like, pre-faded, you know, "pre-worn", mildly distressed. and i do like a nice pair of faded jeans, but i can break them in myself. instead of buying a pair that are already vulnerable to tears (a pair of jeans should not be that vulnerable), which is what happened. i'd bought two pair, and this happened to both of them. they would have been fine if they'd only pre-washed them, period. but like i said, i repaired them, and it is fairly subtle. but they have nice classic styling (i happen to like the boot cut) nothing flashy, and they fit well. which is why i was so mad when they tore, and for some reason they stopped making that particular one altogether (they are a lot like classic men's jeans, but are cut just a little different and they happen to fit just right). even when i was a kid, i loved my worn jeans, but i would never buy those ripped up jeans, and i thought it was ridiculous when i saw them being sold that way. my taste in jeans has been pretty consistent.

I mentioned a few posts ago that I used to go my local folk club and haven't been for a few years, it got me thinking of all the people I went to watch their most of them fantastic, but I remembered this man. I went to seen him a few times and got to know his a little but haven't seen him for a long time but found him on you tube.
