Believe it or else, the weather was beautiful on Friday and Saturday - there was a cloud cover most of Friday and I don't think it was warmer than 80 all day. The sun came out for a little while late Saturday afternoon, but it couldn't have been more than 85 or so - by the time the sun went down, there were a number of people with sweatshirts on or wrapping themselves in blankets - something that anyone who has attended WoodyFest in the past will have a hard time believing. All of the performers that I saw were great - Arlo came on stage Friday night and sang a couple of songs with Ellis Paul and Jimmy LaFave as well as joining in with all of the performers singing "This Land..." and "Will the Circle be Unbroken" Saturday's performances were great as well - Xavier played with Arlo and seemed like they've been playing together forever - which I guess they sorta have been, but I haven't seen them together in a long time. It seemed like Arlo didn't want to stop playing that night, but eventually the rest of the performers came on stage to do a few numbers together, and Arlo had Jimmy LaFave play his guitar while he went to the keyboards to play the new "Official Oklahoma Folk Song" Oklahoma Hills. Anywho, we all had a great time seeing and hearing all of the performers in a far more comfortable environment which should continue to get better every year - hopefully the heat will stay away for a long time. Then again, if that happens, it might get overcrowded and not be as much fun... Again, no setlist, but lots of pics. Try to catch some of the other performers if they come to a town near you - esp. Ellis or Jimmy LaFave - the whole list can be found at www.woodyguthrie.com
