1972 - Crystal Palace Bowl, London (topping the bill which included Edgar Winter, Roxy Music, Barbara Dixon and The Chieftains - eclectic or what?!) Guthrie walks on and just says 'Howdie...' Looks about 18.
1988 - Harrogate, Yorks (playing to about 120 in an 800-seater venue) Son Abe is with him. Abe walks on and just plays keyboards - looks about 18.
2006 - Manchester (playing to a packed, intimate theatre of about 400). Guthrie walks on. Abe walks on. Grandson walks on and plays drums - doesn't look anywhere near 18.
What is this? My whole freakin' life disappearing before my eyes...
Great gig as ever. Never heard 'Slow Boat' live before - and a big up to Gordon Titcomb, the non-Guthrie pedal-steel player.
We are beginning to love you over here, Arlo - at last. If you could possibly drop by again. Soon, huh...
