I'm wondering if forgetting the words to "Alice's Restaurant" wasn't deliberate. I saw him last November at Carnegie Hall and he did the dialogue flawlessly. This was actually very refreshing and we all felt that it was an intimate moment with Arlo (him strumming along and giggling that he'd forgotten the lyrics). It was more an informal gathering of friends than a "performance". I did listen to the original "Alice" on tape in the car today though.

I'll make sure that Dave has a copy of the review from the paper, so everyone can read it. And yes, Cheryl, Arlo did make a new convert!
