ok, here's a report on the show last night in baton rouge and i'm also wondering why i have a re-register every time i want to get into a forum! anyway, it was great as expected although there were mostly people dressed in suits and dresses like they were going to anything other than an arlo show! it was my 7th time to see arlo counting tipitina's in new orleans which was "sorta" an arlo show (but so much more!) but it was wonderful to see him solo and to see him do alice's restaurant for only the 2nd time out of the 7 i've seen him. the other time was either in new orleans at the saenger theater in the mid 80's or a few years later in atlanta at the center stage theater. my brain isn't so good at these things anymore. i didn't take any pictures last night but the ones i got the first night at tipitina's in december 2005 were so good because i was right at the stage that it was okay not to get any last night. i did wonder why i remembered in the "original story" the fine they paid was $50 and last night he said $25 and my "ultra-conservative" hubby pointed out last night he said they EACH paid $25 so it then made sense! this is the 3rd time i've taken the hubby to see arlo (he's only 40 and i'm 53 so he didn't really know too much about him until me) but arlo is such a great story teller he had all the conservatives, hubby included, laughing until tears came out of their eyes. one thing i want to say about the audience last night is it seemed to me that too many were hearing "alice" for the first time. i know we all laugh every time we hear it at all the funny parts but it just seemed too many were laughing "differently" as if hearing it for the first time. i wonder if anyone else thought the same thing. i loved the "my peace" ending! and this time, i didn't get fussed at by ramblin' jack elliot for having a red button on my camera that bothered him like when i was at tipitina's. i was so embarrassed but the times-picayune photographer also got fussed at for the same reason! i got some very good closeups of arlo and all the others and i tried to post them here but couldn't figure it out so i directed everyone to my yahoo page. if anyone can give me a clue how to do it here, i'll put them on the appropriate page. email me at ebbette@yahoo.com if you can help! by the way, the people at ihop in denham springs (outside of baton rouge) looked at us very strangely when i walked in with the hubby after the show and i was singing "you can get anything you want at alice's restaurant, 'cept alice..." and then the hostess was named ALICE!

It seems that goin to an Arlo show and then getting a waitress named Alice after the show would point to some great karma following you...did you play the lottery :D

Also ebbette...if your a scatterbrain such as I, just forget to log out and when you come back in you'll already be logged in such as I just did...went for the log in button and found it to be the log out button, two days later. this method may be frowned upon by the site admins. though. :)

if you are operating in slo-mo, to the extent that you are not coming to visit us for more than once in a year or so, I do believe that the Wiz has an automated function to cleanout unused sign-on's, and you're likely just getting housecleaned out. Try logging in once a month at minimum, and you'll likely always keep your sign-on active.
And besides, we'd like to see you more often... just bring cookies next time!

i finally got one of the pictures i took at tipitina's small enough for the specs n this site...lol thank you my friend, kenny, in georgia for doing it for me! he's an "old" hippie and "does" computers for a living an is aways willin to help me with things and give advice. when i left my ex, the ex's new girlfriend was so jealous that me an my cildren were still part of kenny's family (his mother-in-law calls my kids who are all grown her honorary grandkids and we all call her grams) that she made my ex cut of all contact with kenny. he had money but we definitely came out on the best end of the deal. we got FAMILY! didn't mean to give a life history but sometimes the keyboard has a mid of its'own! but anyway, thanks to kenny for putting up with this picture thing by first reducing the size and then reducing the pixels!

Oh, you can reduce the pixels. Must be just another one of those buttons you can hit. Thanks for the picture.
