If you know someone who could use a Thanksgiving dinner, there's still room at the Guthrie Center. Please call the folks making the dinner, Seven Hills Inn in Lenox, (413) 637-0060 to let them know you're coming.

Very nice article about what goes on in the Berkshires in the fall, including the annual pilgrimage to the Church for the concert series,

The Dec. 4, 2006 issue of The New Yorker has an article titled "Voice of The Cabal" written by Marc Fisher.
It is about Bob Fass a hero of counter culture radio on WBAI in New York with his show "Radio Unnameable" since 1962.
There is a brief mention of Arlo in the article saying Fass liked the first version of Alice's Restaurant so much that he once played it repeatedly for the better part of five hours on his show.

Believe it or not, by my calculations, that is playing it 16 times, which would be just under 5 hours.

Ya know, I was thinking some more.( I know, it scares me too) If Richard Nixon just happened to be listening to that show in the whitehouse, there may be yet another famous gap in an erased tape that would be 293 minutes and 20 seconds long.

The travel section in the Sunday Dec.17,2006 issue of the Hartford Courant will have the Washington Post article about Arlo and Stockbridge that appeared in the Post in November.
However, this version of the article will have some great new photos to go with it including a large photo taken at a hootenanny at the Guthrie Center.

Thanks for the preview, Jim:) I buy the Hartford Courant every Sunday and I will definitely keep my beaming spectacles on a look out for the article :D
Peace,

Looks like the Guthrie Family will be in New Orleans soon. New Year's Fun says they are scheduled to appear in Jackson Square in the French Quarter.

kurt...

>> Nope, they removed the reference so no New Orleans appearance this year...b
