Thanks belong to Kerry for finding this.

I saw a short clip on a local TV news show of the opening of this press conference. They just showed Arlo and the others taking their chairs at the main table. Didn't get to hear what Arlo had to say.

Thanks for finding this Kerry. As usual, Arlo was spectacular.

Try to catch it...enjoy!

Don't you know me I'm your native son..."

Ooops! My apology, Janet. I'd been looking at some of Judy's work when I inadvertantly transposed her name for yours Image . It should have read, "Thanks for the info, Janet."

Well, it isn't TV or radio, but "Cathy Guthrie, daughter of Folksinger Arlo Guthrie", was quoted People magazine last week in an article about AJ Croce. (Brad Pitt is on the cover as Sexiest Man Alive. Yeah, right.)

Nice to see Arlo's name in national print!

Hey, If you pay attention, on the commercial for "Singers and Songwriters" the 70's, it shows a clip of Arlo singing "City of New Orleans." He is wearing a cowboy hat, and looking handsome as ever. Unfortunately, it isn't a very long clip, but just thought you may want to be aware of it.

On the way to church this AM as I was driving, I felt led to tune in this classic called Flashback rock radio show that's on the classic rock channel in Norfolk 106.9 on Sunday mornings. God must've lead me to tune it in cuz... They played the WOODSTOCK teme songs by CSNY & they played on there a clip of Arlo from WOODSTOCK saying "The NY State Thruway Is Closed Man! Isn't That Far Out!" That really made my Sunday! No I didn't run off the road but I did yell out Woo-Hoo Praise God! I think God knew I needed an Arlo moment. Image

Also if you see on Napster a version of Arlo doing YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE the old Jimmie Davis tune, it's ain't him it's the Jimmie Davis version. I found that out after downloading it. <g>

The other night, I happened to tune in to VH1 doing a bio of Willie Nelson. At one point, they were talking about Farm Aid and showed ARLO onstage with someone else (not Willie)while the voice-over listed some "big names" who had staged the concert. Of course, Arlo's name wasn't mentioned, even WHILE he was shown singing... the song, BTW, was This Land....

Interesting how quickly they forget!
