Crosby says the four-hour series, scheduled to air Aug. 22 and 23 from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m., is an overview of 40 years of musical activism interwoven with celebrity interviews and news footage, using the music of Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie as the documentary's "jumping-off point."
"We thought that was a salient point, and that those two guys were such good examples, that we could pick up there," Crosby says. "It went from there into the Civil Rights Movement, and that was a huge part of our story. The two major examples of activism in this last 50 years have been the Civil Rights Movement and the Vietnam War. They were slightly connected, and they segued one into the next, and they overlapped."

Please Hopewell, VA cable tv co, please put cable on our part of our road. I realize we live in the sticks but... I'll have to get my parents to tape the Crosby thing with their satellite dish. Aug 22, I'll be comeing home from the DE/Ocean City Blundertrip. 23 is rest up as is 24th of Aug. Sigh... To watch Renegade & tape it we had to go to my aprents hosue & make them watch it & tape it. I did see it again in Nags Head one yr on my birthday. I was flipping dials & there it was coming on! Image I don't mind being up at 3 am, I just NEED CABLE. Image

Be sure and check local listings for the Crosby "Stand And Be Counted" show. Looks like it could air Aug 21-22 instead of Aug 22-23. The TLC guide so far has only Episode 1 listed for Aug 22 with no date yet listed for Episode 2.
Check for more info at Arlo's Restaurant on the Message Board.

Saw Arlo in this show this past Saturday. He was interviewed a couple of times and sang parts of Woody's "Do Re Mi". Lots of Woody songs sung by Woody were included. A video is available but don't have the details on how to get it.
