Hey everyone,

I went on my first date with my "now" wife back on 7/24/99. It was an Arlo show at the John Harms Center in Englewood NJ. My recorder messed up and only 4 songs came out OK. The rest were recorded on fast speed so playback was about half-time. It pissed me off royally. The tapes sat in my box until today (4.5 years)

I finally got the oomph to try and fix the songs. I got most of them done. I will post the setlist soon.

Just a heads up. It is stereo recorded from the back of the theatre so it has a bit of WIDENESS to it. I think it is OK. Definitely worth the Arlo stories.

Anyone interested?

I'm making the cover art rightnow. Had a problem with Ring Around Rosie Rag, have to redub it fromthe tape. The rough tracks are Rueben, Orphan and River. The tape player fluctuated between slow and fast. Im gonna try my best to make them listenable.

I also have Morristown NJ from the 98-99 period, i forgot the date but once i find the tape Ill put it on CD for everyone.

Other than that I have Hookaville and something from 84. Im always looking for good tapes with a lot of ARLO TALK.

There was a girl there who gave me her address for a copy. Of course I never got back to her since the tapes were messed up. Would that have been anyone here?

Of course blank CDs or other shows would be appreciated. Im not too concerned about the quality since mine is a little messed up. But if you have no access to either I understand, been there.

OK, I cant fix it anymore. Sounds pretty damn good to me.
I also finished the cover artwork with some borrowed photos
from the net. The John Harms Center has sinces closed its doors,
but Bergen County took over and openned the BC-PAC, maybe Arlo
will be back in the future.

Here is the noticable problems with the recording.
1. I was sitting in the back of the auditorium under the balcony so it sounds kinda wide.
2. I didnt have a condenser mic at the time so I had to manually turn the volume down for the applause and up for the stories.
3. The obvious Tape changes are between "Ring and Blowing" and "LA and Undercover".
4. "Undercover" is cut short because of the change.
5. Sarahs songs "Reuben, Orphan and Sailing" Are the worst, the tape speed control decided to go bad at this point and it is very
wavy. I managed to salvage half of Reuben and parts of the other 2.
6. There are very slight speed changes on other songs but they are barely noticable.

The speed totally crapped out at "Jam" and stayed a constant fast record speed. I had to lower the pitch on my computer
by -10 to match the regular Arlo voice. It may be off by 1 or -1 but I was trying to match the pitch of Arlos voice, the applause and people laughing to the other songs. It was pretty hard to do with an old computer.

I have since obtained a sony mini-disk recorder and a stereo-condensor mic which works awesomely. I havent been to any shows since tho. Maybe this year.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.

PS - I cant find my 98-99? Morristown NJ tape yet. I tore my old room apart looking for it. It is the one listed ont he Rare Tape Registry.
