NOTES:

First and foremost, my apologies to Arlo and all involved - as well as all the purists out there - please don't hate me for this!

The recording you have here is not a normal concert, but rather a compilation spanning all three nights at the Guthrie Center. I have tried to keep the continuity of the shows intact - but I did take a few liberties in order to provide a recording covering all three shows as well as condensing it to fit on a 2 CD set. This is my first time ever putting together a project like this, and I do hope that you enjoy the effort that went in to it.

Also, please note that these were benefit concerts to help support the wonderful programs going on at the Guthrie Center. If you enjoy this recording, I'd urge you to become a member or just donate whatever you feel this is worth. You can even make your contribution online at:

Thanks for your consideration! This recording will likely sound best when listened to with a set of good headphones. I previewed the entire thing with a set of Sony MDR-7506 cans - and I have to say, it's the next best thing to having actually been there!

So, for those who have downloaded (24 people so far) and listened to it, your impressions? Especially if you were at one or more of the shows... Did I do it justice?

I wasn't there, but the quality of what I have listened to so far is excellent. Thanks Dave.

25 people now if you include me.

Very impressive. An excellent capture. Thanks.

What led you to choose to create a compilation as opposed to releasing the three shows as is? Will you make this compilation available as FLAC? Or all three shows?

Mainly, I did it for myself - as I tape generally for my own enjoyment. And I've kind of moved away from FLAC and instead gone with 320k MP3 as it's just a more accessible format for most people and it's one less step for me in releasing it. Also, I believe you'd be hard pressed to find people who could tell the difference )when listening) between a completely lossless format and a 320k MP3 - I've got pretty good ears and I can't. The file size is also a contributing factor... I'm on Verizon 3G service (about my only high speed internet option) and have a 5G/month bandwidth limit. So if I want to upload (or download) huge files, it means I have to grab the laptop and head down to the local library.

Getting technical, I use Sound Studio 4.1.1 on a MacBook (running 10.6.7 currently) - and when I export I'm using the latest 64-bit version of the LAME framework.

PS: I sent you a PM.

You did a great job, Dave! What else would we expect from The Wizard! :)

Thanks very much. I was there on Sunday night. Met wonderful people there from this board and loved how open and friendly everyone was, so thanks to everyone!

I would love to hear these. Curious if these are available in lossless flac format. Sorry I don't do MP3. I just broke my Arlo virginity for the first time friday night in Stroudsburg, Pa and the show was fantastic. I could relate to what Arlo said on many levels. I would do a 1 on 1 trade with you if you wish. Doesn't have to be the compilation, could be any of the 3 shows. See setlists forum for details of my show.
