I was just wondering, what is everybodies favorite arlo lyric? If you had to pick one, or a couple cause picking one is really hard!

for many years my private mantra has been:
"... and just wouldn't you believe it!"

and nothing cheers me up more than hearing:
"Put your arms around me
Like a circle `round the sun
You know I'll love you baby
When my easy ridin's done"

but for really deep, inciteful arlo lyrics, nothing can surpass:
"Ni izome tingy la ma bonza
Ize widgy le ba na na"

:D

Chilling of the Evening
Warm me from the wind and take my hand
A song is sounding, softly singing
My song is cast upon the rainbow waves
Forever splashing in the sunlight
Prove to me there's a love still left
In all of this emptiness around me
Take me from the chilling of the evening

Though you know my love that I must go
A-following the winds that blow inside me
I've nowhere left to run or hide
Except if you will come and run beside me
And even if you do there'll be a lot for us to do
To keep believing
Take me from the chilling of the evening

And now my time has come down many streets
I'm coming from a night decaying
The song that itself sings is all alone
I cannot even hear it playing
Now to leave before I understand
Just what it is I'm leaving
Take me from the chilling of the evening

hmm, I'd probably have to go with "darkest hour". But only if I had to choose one.

Ring around, ring around rose
Touch your nose and blow your toes and mind
Doing the ring-around-a-rosy rag

"Mooses look into your window at night
They look to the left and they look to the right
The mooses are smiling, they think it's a zoo
And that's why the mooses like looking at you"

I wouldn't worry too much about your granddaughter, Wyld; she sounds like a budding blunderite to me.

...this is an impossible question.....but i like those kind....
...gotta agree with Arnie that there's nothin quite like "Stealin'"

you don't believe i love you, look at the fool i've been....and so on always cheers me up....

but at the moment...i'll go with Moon Song....i never quite get over it.....;)...

A second chance to grasp a dance
Beneath the last rays setting of the sun
Tears along the trail of sand
Footprints in the water lead me back to who I am

When gods and goddesses decreed
The mountains raised up from beneath the seas
The sound of sovereign thrones
Above the hand tied bureaucrat who moans

This crazy love amazes me
As I just gaze into your eyes
The liquid sun is split upon the sea
I want to be where I can see the moon arise

This is a tough question, but if there is one line that I always look forward to in an Arlo tune, it is from the 30th Anniversary Alice's Restaurant...

'Shrriiink!, oh Shriiiiink!...excuse me man, but uh, you can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant...'

I realize it may not be as eloquent as Darkest Hour (a favorite song), but the dichotomy of his voice...going from the crazy recruit to the calm, assured Arlo. It gives me chills.

It's so hard to choose! So many already mentioned are my favorites! But then there's also:

Oh, were I the last to leave,
Would these ribbon highway roads
Be less wonderful to weave?
Why must I always be so slow?

It's that last line that gets me right in my heart, every time.

But then, of course, there's

I know I'm crazy, but I'm naturally that way!
