Hi all. Being 58 yrs old and a grandfather I became a 'born-again' hippie at the tender age of 55 so that makes me a Three year old hippy. Some fuzzy looking kid singing at some crazy gig called "Woodstock" was inspirational in my late conversion along with some other strange folk. All those years and I never heard of a Mr Arlo Guthrie! My excuse? Us tribes in Ireland were following a 700 year old past-time of hurting and killing each other and in August 1969 our stupid, senseless war began in earnest. Living in Belfast, I was part of that fn war. Imagine if all us in Ireland had of been exposed to the 'Agent Green'/Grass of Arlo and the Woodstock hippie mindset instead of the religious intolerance and bigotry of the 'other side' (MINE INCLUDED). Thousands of lives might have been saved and peace like a river may have just flowed instead of innocent blood. Arlo (the Peacebomb) & Co in visits to Ireland has brought something we should have hungered for and you folks already know what that is - loving your neighbour as yourself and making mere words come to life. The baby babbles as the man sees the light. That light of love is reflected in the songs and (humble) deeds of an honest man with his family and friends. Arlo (the hippie freak) has walked the line of love. Of course he is fun and great crack as well!!! Peace and Love and may your god go with you.
