Man, I missed that! A friend went with me to a gospel sing where they had a bunch of bluegrass and southern gospel groups performing in an old chicken house in another country a little more than an hr away. Tonite my mom & I are going with her friends & neighbors to see a bluegrass gospel group sing at their church. When I get back I have to rush on & be late to a get together at our church. I hope they archive this on the NPR site...

The re-broadcast is on right now in the DC area on WAMU (88.5) -- I think the "This Song is My Song" just ended; Cheryl H, there's another rebroadcast starting at 1P today on 88.9 which is a Virginia station -- I don't know how close that is to you, but Arlo is in the first half hour if you can get it. (I don't know if he'll show up again later in the broadcast...)

He was back on at the 54-minute point, doing "In the Shade of the Old Apple Tree" and "In Times Like These," the latter dedicated to Neda. And again in the final 10 minutes, doing "Waiting for a Train."

Yes, he does a finale bit too right at the end of the two hours.

Funniest bit: When Keilor mentions that ADG is a big part of Berkshire history, his response was "I just threw out the garbage!"

My best overheard comment this weekend is from a guy who is a board tech for Hank Jr: "Like Arlo? Everybody likes Arlo Guthrie. If you don't like Arlo, you should punch yourself in the face."

Might be nice to live in a place where that WAS the big story!

It played in the afternoon here. Great show. Some very fine banjo picking. I was working on a contingency plan (IT goop) so I didn't catch the name of the woman torch singer, but whoa... reminded me a lot of Gale Garnett.

Arlo hit the note square with In Times Like These. The dedication was what needed saying and no more. Thanks for saying it, 'slinger. Another of my Dad's favorite Jimmy Rogers' tunes too. Sometimes I think Arlo is yet another older lost brother from my Dad's rambling days.

I think her name was Heather Masse. She did a lovely version of Richard Thompson's "Dimming of the Day".

Somehow it manages to come on when I'm not at home lol. Thanks for the info...

Came in on the skit today in the car and thought, "That guy does a pretty good job of imitating Arlo. A bit deeper vocally, but not bad. I can do just a good", and then GK credits him at the end of the skit. DOH! They were doing a highlights from 2009 show. Have to take the time to listen to the whole thing in the archive.
